DC has done a fantastic job with their direct-to-DVD movies in recent years and the next two releases look to continue that successful run. There have been some misses along the way, Green Lantern: First Flight and Wonder Woman did not achieve the level of success that I’m sure DC was hoping for. However New Frontier, Crisis on Two Earths, and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies were very successful in the eyes of DC. The next two animated films have me very excited mainly because the stories that they are based on are some of my favorites.

Well, it’s been over a month since the finale aired, and if there are any images that still echo in our minds, it would have to be from the first few minutes, where Clark has a prophetic dream of 2013. I absolutely loved the easter egg they threw in, showing a tiny Superman stopping a plane from crashing into the Daily Planet. Scenes like that were made for the pause function on my DVR. We also find that Lex is alive and running for president and the Dalai Lama is fond of Lois. I would have to say that my only complaint of this scene is that Lois looked a lot like Sarah Palin and did a lot of screaming at offscreen characters like Perry and Jimmy. I mean, I’m glad to know they are working at the Planet in 2013, but is it any more obvious that the actors aren’t really there? The producers should have planned ahead and shot a quick Perry scene while McKean was on the set for Hostage, and why not cast a young guy to play Superman’s pal? It’s not like he would be needed for Season 10. Just saying…

Just another goody to hold you over until our 150th episode. This week we’ve got the full uncut interview from our conversation with Brian Austin Green after Metallo hit Smallville again in ‘Upgrade’. The original episode was missing nearly 40 minutes of audio from our talk, and now you can hear all the jokes, laughs, sidegags, stories and more from that episode several weeks ago.

Here is our exclusive interview with Smallville’s own Tess Mercer, Cassidy Freeman. Cassidy talks about her sophomore season on the show, gives some great insight to specific episodes (especially the season finale ‘Salvation’) as well as where she’d like to see the character to go for season ten.

This episode brought us at least four things I was waiting for: Chloe’s apology, more information about the Book of Rao, the return of Martha Kent and Perry White, and the break-up of Lois and Clark. Now, I don’t take delight in the unhappiness of our characters, nor am I one of those people who push their glasses up as they scream at their TV about the continuity of Smallville leading into the Superman comics. I subscribe to the same notion Big Honkin Steve talked about way back during last season, Smallville is an Elseworlds tale. Period. I’m pretty sure it was established in the first episode anyway when we met a stranger named Chloe and noticed that Pete Ross had zero chemistry with Lana Lang. When Lois showed up in Season Four, I can’t believe people got upset.

IT’S CLARK VS ZOD IN THE SEASON FINALE – Zod unleashes his army upon the world, forcing Chloe to call in reinforcements from old friends. Zod tells Lois he is The Blur and asks her to steal the Book of Rao from Clark. Torn between Clark and The Blur, Lois asks Clark to come clean with her about everything but he refuses. Chloe and Oliver attempt to reconnect Watchtower’s satellite system in order to fight the Kandorians but to Chloe’s horror, Oliver gets caught on site and disappears. Tess attempts to stop Zod but he leaves her clinging to life. Clark and Zod battle for control of Earth.
It all comes down to this! The ninth season finale of Smallville and a long break ahead of us before we get into the tenth and potentially final season of the series.
Before we get to ‘Salvation’, check out the last couple of episodes of SHoE to catch you up on what’s going on with our favorite heroes. And, in the meantime, when the episode is over come back here and let us know what you thought, or email us so we can read your thoughts on the air! We’ll be back with the 150th episode of Starkville’s House of El soon!

And here we are, the final hours. Very shortly we’ll all know what this season has been building towards. Earth vs. Krypton. Good vs. Evil. Clark vs. Zod. But before we get to the end, we’ve got one more great story to tell you about, and that’s the story of a quiet weekend at Kent Farm with Clark, Lois, Martha…and Perry White!? That’s right Annette O’Toole and Michael McKean return to the ‘Ville and Steve and Derek cover the highlights in the penultimate episode that leaves you ready to see what they have in store for us at the end later today.

Crunch time! Less than 24hrs to go until the ninth season finale of Smallville, ‘Salvation’, and it’s almost sad to be delivering the last few episodes of SHoE of the season. But we’re quickly approaching episode 150, and with that comes the last two episodes of the season before the finale, ‘Sacrifice’ and ‘Hostage’. First up is the fall of Watchtower, the burning of Oliver, and the spiraling of Zod. Join us, won’t you?

Much like Brian said in his last post, with the big finale tomorrow night, we thought it would be neat to look at some of the greatest battles between Superman and Zod in the comics. While Brian wanted to look at a less recent battle between Zod and Superman, I figured it would be better to take a look at a more recent conflict between these two, but first some context for those who haven’t read World of New Krypton, the most recent story arc that has woven its plots all over the Superman family of books for the past year and a half or so.
