The last regular episode of SHoE, Steve and Derek join together one last time over the mics for Smallville’s penultimate ‘Prophecy’. Did it lose a little steam leading into the series finale, or keep the full momentum of the last batch of episodes? We give our full review, plus news on the complete series DVD boxset and our speculations, wishes, and wants for the finale that airs this Friday. JOR-EL GIVES LOIS SUPER POWERS; KARA returns — Clark takes Lois to the Fortress to get Jor-El’s (voiced by Terrance Stamp) blessing for their marriage. Jor-El bestows a unique wedding gift on the couple – he gives Lois Clark’s super powers so she can see what it’s like to be him for a day. Unfortunately, the Toyman (guest star Chris Gautheir) has returned to Metropolis, so Lois must go up against the notorious villain instead of Clark. Meanwhile, Oliver searches for the Bow of Orion, which he believes will remove the Omega symbol from his skull, and runs into Kara (guest star Laura Vandervoort), who is also on a mission to stop Darkseid.
It’s the penultimate episode before the last ever episode of Smallville. Don’t miss the final moments that lead up to the series finale! If you’ve listened to SHoE for more than a couple of episodes, you know it’s something near and dear to our heart that we’ve done for free, and given up countless hours a week to work on, for five years now. What to say about “Dominion”? It was Justin Hartley’s (Oliver Queen) directorial debut, it was a Smallville spin on movies like 300, and it featured the return of the previously exiled Zod (Callum Blue). The plot for this episode, the nineteenth of the season, was rather simple. The episode wasn’t really about the action, though there was plenty of it, instead it was a testament to how Clark influences and affects those around him.
The episode opens with Clark and Lois unpacking their belongings at their new apartment. They joke about Clark doing it at super speed and Lois’s love of hair bands before Tess, via computer video conferencing, interrupts their domestic bliss with League news.

The concept behind “Booster,” the eighteenth episode of Smallville’s final scene (written DC Comics’ star Geoff Johns) wasn’t exactly complicated. A mixture of the old adage “be yourself” and “it’s the man that makes the hero, not the suit he wears” combined for an entertaining, if a slightly heavy handed heroic hour.

ZOD (Callum Blue) RETURNS IN JUSTIN HARTLEY’S DIRECTORIAL DEBUT EPISODE — Tess learns that General Slade was found unconscious on a street corner, proof that someone has gained access to the Phantom Zone’s escape portal and sent him back. Clark decides to return to the exiled land to make sure other phantoms are not fleeing and is furious when Oliver tricks Clark into taking him along. With Clark’s powers gone, the two are immediately captured by the Zoners who take them to their new leader, Zod, who is thirsting for revenge on Clark for banishing him to this Kryptonian jail. Meanwhile, Lois learns Clark trusted Tess with a secret, but didn’t tell Lois.
After tonight, there is only one new episode of Smallville remaining before the series finale – so you definitely don’t want to miss this one. Count on there being a lot of promos for the end starting tonight! After it’s over with, come back here to discuss the episode and keep checking back for SHoE 172! Only four episodes of SHoE remain!
