In the end, thank you guys for endless entertainment…often times even more entertaining that Smallville, itself!

I considered you guys all my friends. Being a kid that was always different because I was in a wheelchair and not having many hobbies nor wanting any hobbies. I am very thankful I found Starkville’s House of El. You guys took a late night idea of a kid sitting at his desk (the same desk I am sitting at now typing this) in front of his HP Laptop staring at the Zune Marketplace software and four years later turning an idea I had to download a podcast onto my Zune and turning it into something that became my main hobby.

I haven’t had many moments where I can say ‘This was one of the happiest/best moments of my life.’ But for me SHoE has been one of those moments for me. I cherish SHoE and I cherish all these great men I mentioned above thank you.”

That was the shorter version of what I posted on Google + and I mean every word of it, I can only count on one hand over the last few years where I can say “That was a great moment in my life” and SHoE was that.

Whether it was a Zune, an iPod, a Blackberry, or and Android device. Damian, Steve, Derek, Joe, and Robin. You gave me laughter I have never had, you gave me friends that I never would have met if not for this podcast. I wouldn’t have gotten a Twitter account if not for Starkville’s House of El. You guys got me through boring and sad times because to not go into too much detail the last four years were rather dark for me. I can’t say thank you enough for that.

I want to give a shout to my friends who I met through here: James, my podcast partner Michael J. Petty, Natasha, AlisaLea, Taryn, and Tim. Thank you so much for the great discussions we have had right here in the comments section you guys were my friends at a time when I didn’t have many so thank you.

Lastly thank you to The Braintrust Jason Spencer (Great Work on #175 man.) Will Goodman, Graham Hancock (thank you for your hard work on #175 as well, Graham Tracey, Brian Mosley, the very Lovely Kim Jordan, Logan Angel, and last but not Tucker Colburn. This is a MOVIE. As much as we joked or may not have joked about a Smallville Movie post series-end, you guys have outdone yourselves. THIS is how a podcast closes the curtain on 5 years of hard work, especially when so much love, sweat, and tears have gone into it like this one.

With as much footage as you guys shot the weekend following the Smallville Finale, your own personal videos, and from all of the listener and staff submitted entries, I can imagine there was a lot left on the cutting room floor, so to speak. I at least hope that all you (hosts past and pres-erm… recent) got to keep the full clips of listener submitted section for yourselves. I don’t need to see more of me gushing about how much I loved listening to the show, but I hope that you guys know how much your efforts to put this show out every week for 5 years meant to the rest of this “global community.”

For those who keep peeking in to see where SHoE #175 is I have news! Derek has asked me to take over the editing of #175 from Graham. Graham has done the heavy lifting for me but his schedule is way too full to finish so I’ll be putting on the final touches. The project is on it’s way to me and I’ll do my best to get this thing finished up as fast as I can while keeping the quality high. I’ll try and keep you guys updated on my progress when I can.

I am liking this JL: Doom thing. It looks sweet like all the other DC Universe Animated movies. Same universe as Young Justice and Crisis on Two-Earths.

Seriously I don’t understand what’s the rush..guys have jobs..you know ones that actually pay the bills and besides once this ep comes and goes..that’s it,no more people!I wouldn’t have minded if SV season ten was split in two.Patience sometimes IS a virtue.
And I’m sure it’ll be worth a wait.I’ve read Derek’s tweet where he says he’s seen some of it and was amazed by what he’d seen.I’m paraphrasing,of course.

@Derek I am sure you saw a couple of months ago that Tom Welling said in an interview that he would be open to a Smallville movie it it were right…. I know the odds are slim, but in your opinion, is there ANY chance that something like this would ever happen?? I assume that it won’t happen on the big screen, that DC wouldn’t want to “confuse” us “idiot” fans with two different Supermen (Welling and Cavill) in separate and unrelated movies, but what about maybe a made for tv movie or miniseries or something??! It just would be fantastic to see Tom, Erica, Michael, Justin, and Allison play their characters again…. I know the odds are slim, but one can still hope I guess :-) I was just wondering what your opinion of this ever happening is…

Honestly,I don’t know..have seen how it loks like,but never have read a comic in a digital format.I have read digital books.And ultimately I have nothing against it..whatever helps spread the content,or save the content if it comes to that.
But personally,I still prefer hard copy in my hands,whether it’s a book,or a comic book.

@Woo I’m sorry, I did not mean to side set your question. I think the Digital Comics are a great thing personally. Now, I would NEVER buy one unless I 1st bought the issue hard-copy and loved it. So, I think it’s great for those who can’t get to a comic store or don’t have time to sit and read so that they can get it on the go. Now, I don’t really understand the article. I’m not really sure what they are trying to tell us, so I’ll leave that, but the idea as a whole I think is smart.

Although, I did read Action Comics #1 today, and believe it or not, I actually really enjoyed it. I thought it was a great throwback to the original Action Comics #1 and it was written well. Now, I have a problem with the writer (Grant Morrison) because I believe that he ruined Batman comics. After Infinite Crisis, Batman got all weird until he was off the book. Also, his Final Crisis was really confusing, but this book was a pleasant surprise. Now, I don’t like that Clark is currently working at the Daily Star, but I do know that he will switch to the Daily Planet. I do however, love his “best-friendship” with Jimmy Olsen. It works, and I love it. I believe Supes is a little cocky in AC#1, but I believe that’ll change as this new origin goes on. I like Sam Lane in this story. I like Lex Luthor in it as well. I hope they explain more about Clark’s time in Smallville and why he became this “Superman”. Also, I like that his powers are still developing and that he’s really NOT Superman yet. That’s a nice change. Also, on the “title card page”, Supes is holding a bad guy over his head, and the guy is saying “SOMEBODY SAVE ME!”. I LOVED it, and now I wonder if Grant Morrison watched Smallville? Not a lot of Lois in #1, but I know that’ll change sooner than later.

I also read Detective Comics, Batgirl, Justice League International, Green Arrow, and Stormwatch. I LOVED Detective Comics #1. Batman and Joker were written just how they should be. Batgirl was OK, I’m not too thrilled about the book now that Brian Q. Miller is not writing it, and I’m not sure how I feel as Barbara Gordon as Batgirl again. I really was liking Oracle. JLI was AMAZING!!! I loved Booster Gold in it. I thought the team was written well. Batman was a bad ass as always, written a lot like Geoff Johns writes him in Infinite Crisis or Justice League. Green Arrow was OK as well. Nothing special at all. His suit is more like Smallville’s and he has this girl (Naomi) that’s like his Watchtower. Not really feeling anything with that one, I probably won’t buy the next issue, same with Batgirl. Now, Stormwatch, I thought, was confusing. I only bought it for Martian Manhunter cause I love that character and was EXTREMELY MAD that they replaced him with Cyborg in the Justice League (which is a fantastic comic btw, I haven’t been so excited for one comic book in years, but I am with JL). MM was mad a little darker than we’ve seen him before. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t familiar.

So, that’s what I thought about this weeks “DC: The New 52″ issues. Next week I’m buying: Batman & Robin, Green Lantern, and maybe Superboy and/or Legion of Super-Heroes.

And as for those other DC instalments and heroes I completely second what @Michael J. Petty had said.

I am looking for some suggestions for subscriptions. First of all, I have a “decent” background to comics. Obviously I LOVE Smallville. I’ve always been interested in the comics, but was a bit intimidated by the huge history and continuity, so have only delved into trade paperbacks – death/world without/return of Superman, some of the Man of Steel trades from the Byrne reboot, Birthright, Secret Origins, and some of the Superman/Batman trade paperbacks. I also loved the ‘Last Days of Krypton’ novel by Kevin Anderson.

Having said that, with this new reboot, I was thinking that this will be an excellent point to jump in full on, and subscribing to some of the new titles. I am very interested in “Justice League” (loved a lot of stuff from Geoff Johns – a few Smallville episodes, trade paperbacks – and am really looking forward to this title). I am most interested in Superman and Batman, they have been my favorite DC characters, but mostly only because those are the two that I know the most about since they are the most “popular”. So, I am also adding “Action Comics” and “Superman” to my list. I have done some research on the boards out there, and from what I have read, it seems like “Batman” will be the best title of the 4 Batman titles, so I have also chosen that title.

I am looking to add one more to my “Justice League”, “Action Comics”, “Superman”, “Batman” titles, but do not know what to pick…. I thought about maybe “Nightwing”, as it seems to be a popular suggestion on the boards, and is in the same “realm” of my other titles. Also thinking of maybe Green Arrow??? I liked the character in Smallville, but not sure I would like the comic or if there would be better choices? Maybe “The Savage Hawkman” for the same reason that I liked the character on Smallville??

What do you guys suggest???

@Woo You mean season long main villain.Sam Witwer was awesome,but mine is without a doubt Callum Blue.

And regarding season 9,I think there’s a consensus about that one being the best.Although I am the one who didn’t like Escape.And Roulette is I think worse than Power and Collateral combined together,in fact one of the worst episodes ever.But on a whole s9 absolutely is the best.

I’ll admit that I’m annoyed that it’s taken as long as it has for SHoE 175 to be released but I can understand. Real life takes priority over something that was done in fun.

Before there are those who’ll likely to continually complain about the delay you have to realize something. Derek, Steve and everyone who has been a part of SHoE never had to do this. They did it because they love Smallville and Superman in general.

This podcast has gone on since the end of season 5 and throughout all the changes, in both the TV show and the podcast itself, we’ve been given episode after episode and made them worth checking out for one reason or another.

I’m sure that it’s been said time after time after time but I’m still going to say it. Thank you Starkville’s House of El. Thank you SO MUCH. For all the work that you’ve done to give us fans of Smallville and in Superman something that we all could enjoy.

I have a question…I’ve read on the net that it’s the opinion by a lot of people that this film will make or break Zack Snyder in their eyes. Do you guys agree with that?

On the note of Supernatural. It was still written pretty well throughout season 3 even though the Strike was going on. Bella annoyed me though. I enjoy her end…

Going along with this how different would Season Seven if there was no Writer’s Strike?

Going along with that would there have been an eighth, ninth, and tenth season and do you think Miles and Al could’ve headed those seasons? Because @Michael J. Petty I apologize I know how much you enjoyed the sixth season but just an outside observer not even as a fan of the series one could clearly see Gough and Millar were losing their touch around the sixth season as far as material goes.

Okay, I have a question for all Smallville and Superman fans out there.
Smallville has taken from all the various origins of Superman (with the exception of the New 52, which takes from Smallville) and made them a part of Clark’s 10 year origin in Smallville. My question is, what Superman origin is your favorite? Your options are Superman: Secret Origin, Superman; Birthright, Superman: Man of Steel, and/or Action Comics #1.

And on the other, yeah, I really shouldn’t either, but when I see someone bashing my favorite show, I have to say something. lol

And concernig fights about Sv,I’m with @Woo. i don’ discuss Smallville,nor even Superman,or any fictional character with those geeks.And here I use geek in a completely deregatory way,cause anyone taking a comic book character so seriously to actually go and offend others for suggesting something different than his idealised version is definitely socially challenged,in my opinion.

Also yes,although it’s only a speculation,it must’ve been something like what you’re saying on Earth 2/3,because Lionel really was like that.I even remember a flashback scene here on our Earth where Lillian’s at a breaking point and wants a divorce,cause she feels Lionel’s gonna turn their sons against each other in the survival of the fittest style.

I think back to “Luthor” in terms of the Luthors on Earth 3. In my mind, Lex’s mother Lillian either died earlier than she did on Earth 1 or divorced Lionel when she found out about Mercy. I also have to believe there had to be some competition between Clark and Lex because Lionel likes that Cain and Abel which one of my sons will prove to be stronger.

that seems a little harsh. lets not attack people just because you think you have the right too because 100 years ago people were kinda mean to black people. and you know what? king henry was a dick to the english you dont see them running around making stupid affirmitive actions or such..my belief is everyone is everyone were all people we should not care anymore about the stupidity and ignorance of our ancestors lets move on and accept everyone for who they are, that which is not defined by the color of thier skin but the person they are.

So, basically.. you’re one of those Tea Party-loving/FOX-watching-type racists, who hates blacks and minorities SO much, with every fiber of his being, but pretends not to, by trying to convince himself, and others, that he has other valid “reasons” for taking issue with doing anything nice for minorities. A little off topic of Supes, but still in DC’s realm: What do you guys think about all the Dark Knight Rises stuff we’ve seen so far?

Most people aren’t happy with the new suit..I think it looks cool,as do some people over here.And I’m sure the whole movie’s gonna look spectacular,but I’m afraid that’s gonna be it,the beginning and the end of it.Because the entire thing,together with a complete reboot of the character over at DC smells like Superman deconstructed!
