It must be Freaky Friday because Clark is acting weird again! “Luthor” explored some of the same lines that the Fox show Fringe has been exploring – alternate universes and switcheroos. When our Clark is switched with “Faux-Clark”, our hero discovers that an entire universe hinges on who his adopted parents will be. “Abandoned” not only succeeded in opening up the Smallville mythology and filling in some of the cracks with interesting and emotional exposition, it also explored the theme of abandonment in clever ways. Although I thought the pacing was a bit off, I really enjoyed what the writers gave Tom, Erica and Cassidy to work with this week. Exploring those emotions, coming to a resolution with the past, gives each of these characters to turn the page in their lives and move on to things they felt held back from.
