Welcome back! It’s the first SHoE of 2010 and we’ve got some catching up to do. First off, this episode was recorded before the disastrous earthquake in Haiti and the announcement of the Telethon that will take the place of “Disciple” on 1/22. Do your part to help. Secondly, this episode is brought to you by viewers like you, literally! Steve Glosson and long time listener/friend of the show Jennifer open up the mailbag from season nine and answer some of your questions regarding Smallville, SHoE, and more. Plus details about things coming down the pipeline!

Hey Smallville fans, hope everyone had a great Christmas and are looking forward to a great New Year’s this week!
In case you haven’t heard the latest episode of Starkville’s House of El, we wanted to bring you up to speed. In January, Craig Byrne of Kryptonsite and Derek Russell of Starkville’s House of El will be facing off in an epic battle of Smallville trivia, with charities and even you benefitting from this! Donations can be made via Paypal at msuhouseofel@gmail.com towards this drive, and all funds will be donated towards several charities including Heshima Kenya and The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. The top three highest donations will win a Smallville prize pack courtesy of SHoE and Kryptonsite after donations have closed on January 15th. On that date, the episode will be released and the money will be donated. You can also have a hand in picking questions for SHoE host and Trivia moderator Steve Glosson to ask, ranging from five categories that you can hear in the latest episode of SHoE #138.5.
So what’re you waiting for? Get to emailing in your questions! Get to donating in for great causes! And get ready to hear one of the most fun episodes of Starkville’s House of El ever!

Before we continue, let me explain myself a bit. The work load I have experienced during this season of Smallville has been quite heavy. I had every intention of commenting on *each* and every episode, but it simply became impractical to do so. Writing the best music I possibly can is my highest priority, and that means that other projects, such as this blog, have been put on the back burner. I will do my very best to write as many of these “entries” as I can (I truly enjoy doing so), but covering every episode will not be possible. Alright then, let’s start catching up a bit with the following entry…“Rabid”…
Zombies. A composer’s dream come true. Creepy and horrifying, they’re perfect in their simplicity. No subtle shadings of emotion there, just panic, horror and gooey drool. So why was I having to *think* so much about this score?

Plagued by not having been together, alone for an episode in months – this happens. Steve and Derek, uncut. While there’s still plenty of Smallville talk inside, you can get that in your regular episode. But if you’re looking for hi-jinks, laughter, and off the wall topics that don’t even make sense to us, you’ve come to the right place. SHoE Uncut is your place to hear what really happens before, during, and after the Starkville House of El recording sessions. Enjoy!
