Robin’s “Abandoned” Review!

November 18th, 2010 by Robin | 18 Comments

SMALLVILLE“Abandoned” not only succeeded in opening up the Smallville mythology and filling in some of the cracks with interesting and emotional exposition, it also explored the theme of abandonment in clever ways. Although I thought the pacing was a bit off, I really enjoyed what the writers gave Tom, Erica and Cassidy to work with this week. Exploring those emotions, coming to a resolution with the past, gives each of these characters to turn the page in their lives and move on to things they felt held back from.

Robin’s “Harvest” Review

November 3rd, 2010 by Robin | 15 Comments

Smallville harvest

“Harvest” aka A Very Spooky Smallville Halloween Special was a chilling little stand-alone Clark and Lois romp as well as a suspenseful continuation of Tess and Alexander’s storyline. Both stood as good Halloween fodder as they served up classic Halloween tropes. Read the rest of this entry »

Robin’s “Homecoming” Review

October 15th, 2010 by Robin | 162 Comments

Screen shot 2010-10-15 at 11.10.02 PMA few weeks ago, I listed my favorite Smallville episodes here on smallvillepodcast.com. It looks like that list needs to be redone. What can I say? “Homecoming” completely lived up to and surpassed all the hype around it. A perfect episode. Unless “Homecoming” and I are still in the honeymoon stage of our relationship, I really sincerely believe that I have found a new favorite episode.

Top 20 Smallville Music Moments Countdown!

Tom, Allison and Sam with Remy Zero

Tom, Allison and Sam with Remy Zero

Music has been an important part of Smallville, from the opening chords of “Save Me” to the End Credits score. It sets the mood by either drowning the viewer in sorrow or kicking the action into overdrive. As I looked back on the music over the years, I realized I could probably devote an entire list to Clana, but there were so many other music moments that captivated me as well. From the twisted evil of Lionel, Lex and Davis to the heartbreaking heroics of Clark, Lana, Lois, Oliver and Chloe, these 20 songs will always be my favorite music moments of Smallville.

CW Connect – Cassidy Freeman

September 20th, 2010 by Robin | 16 Comments

A new CW Connect video was just released today with SHoE favorite Cassidy Freeman! She answer fan questions like what is the overall theme of Season Ten, what Tess’s storyline will be, what her proudest moment on Smallville is, who the “freaky old chick” in Salvation was, is Tess good or bad, and will Tess and Chloe team up again.

(Note: Since SHoE co-host Damian Holbrook is in Vancouver today, I was waiting to see him wander by in the background with a chili dog. – Robin)
