The time has come and the CW has the press release revealing details for the very important and mythos heavy mid-season finale of Smallville.

The night is finally upon us. “Odyssey” kicks off the 8th Season of Smallville with a bang. Members of the Justice League return to start off the season in a big way. Many things will be changing in this season of Smallville. There will be some new faces, new show runners, new series regulars, and a new opening title. Clark will be taking one step closer to fulfilling his destiny, and taking on the challenge of dealing with duel identities!
Be sure not to miss this “Epic” event.

The folks at Smallville have released a gaggle of information. We finally have some screen caps from the season 8 premiere trailer. The trailer has yet to air but should be popping up within the next few days. You can see the screen caps over at Kryptonsite.

TV Guide is reporting that Charlotte Sullivan has been cast to play the role of DC Comics character Maxima in the 4th episode of season 8 entitled “Instinct”. It is unclear at this time is how close this Maxima will be in relation to the intergalactic princess from the comics, but one thing that will definitely hold true is she’ll have her eyes set on Clark Kent. “Instinct” airs October 9th.
Kryptonsite is reporting that Episode 8-3 will be titled toxic. Plot details are minimal at this point but this episode could possibly have something to do with Oliver being poisoned at a fundraiser. Read the rest of this entry »
According to the newest issue of TV Guide magazine, Season 8 of Smallville will premiere September 18th! Dates have been known to move around a bit, so we will keep you posted should anything change. As of right now Smallville is only a little over two months away!
Update: During last night’s repeat of “Gemini”, the CW ran a logo announcing that Smallville’s 8th season would premiere on Thursday, October 2nd. We have yet to determine who is right here, though chances are good that the CW has the more legit date. While this means 3 more weeks without Smallville, it’s still a step in the right direction for new season news, so we’ll keep you posted. Thanks to all who wrote in with this detail.
***UPDATE*** The CW has confirmed that Smallville Season 8 will begin on September 18th. That’s less than 2 months away!
The Charactors of Tess and Davis “Doomsday” Bloome have been cast for the upcoming season 8 of Smallville.
Davis Bloome, will be played by Battlestar Galactica alum Sam Witwer, who played Alex “Crashdown” Quatraro on the series, will be a bar tender at the “Ace of Clubs”, struggling with the secrets of his past.
The role of Tess will be filled by Cassidy Freeman, who was in the CW pilot Austin Golden Hour, will be taking over in the absense of Lex Luthor. Tess has complete control over Lex’s estate. She claims to be forever in Lex’s debt for saving her life.
It has been confirmed, Justin Hartley will return to Smallville in season 8, as a series regular. That’s right, E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos is reporting that in season 8 The Green Arrow will appear in 15+ episodes.
It seems as though Oliver’s story arc will deal with his past rather than his identity as the Green Arrow. At any rate this is great news for Smallville fans.
Tonight at 8PM on The CW, don’t miss the Smallville Season 7 Finale, “Arctic”! It’s safe to say that after this episode Smallville will never be the same. Lex has unlocked the secret of Veritas, and finds himself face to face with the Traveler! This should be a unforgettable final performance form Michael Rosenbaum.
