Will there be a downloadable video from the live feed that you guys did Friday night, after the finale?

  2. jimjvortex says:

From who’s end did you record this? It’s a littel hard to hear Robin Damian and Joe.

  3. Rich says:

i actualy liked the finale it was pretty good i liked the jonathan clark stuff and the shirt rip at the end. i still feel kara should have been there but thats my opion. all in all good end to a flawed series.

  4. THANK YOU! I wasn’t able to make the Live Show, so I’m glad I get to hear it. Thanks guys for the wonderful times and few years I’ve spent here! You ARE GREAT!

  5. Tanner says:

I know the fight club thing was a joke, but what if it was true? =]

  6. Woo says:

Was it just me, but was that another “Big Blue” in Chloe and Ollie’s hallway when Chloe’s talking to Lois on her MyTouch?

  7. Tim says:

    It’s just you, Woo

But I do agree it looks remarkably similar. Maybe it is something that Moira gave Chloe that she found in an old box of hers lol

  8. Woo says:

@Tim I know it may not be a copy of Big Blue it sure does look like it.

How awesome would it have been to see in Chollie’s loft a flyer that said “Vote Oliver Queen Star City Mayor.”

  9. jacob says:

@rich thanks for finally being positive but just because kara wasnt in every episode doesnt make it flawed…

  10. Em says:

I had to go all the way back to the post for the “Harvest” podcast to recall something I said would be a good fit for the end of Smallville… I had said that I wanted to hear Clark’s quote that he said in Homecoming at his father’s grave-site repeated at the end: “You said to hold on to Smallville. I will, I won’t ever forget. Cause you’ll be with me no matter where I go. But I have to say the one thing I never could. Goodbye…”

How in the world was I supposed to know that we were going to get Jonathan ACTUALLY saying that to Clark – while handing him the suit, even! – and that Clark actually still needed to really understand what his father meant by that statement before we got to the end? *cue the waterworks*

To quote Derek: “I didn’t know!” But I DID need to have that clarified… because I didn’t realize that I’d gotten so connected to these characters to know that I needed that closure between Clark and Jonathan – to hear him tell his son that he was proud of him, but also to tell Clark that Jor-El could provide him with the guidance and understanding of his heritage that the Kent’s could not. And now, since that show DID provide me with that closure, well… I can walk away from this show feeling resolved and happy with the “beginning” we got – and carry that with me in a small way as well.

Okay. *wipes away tears* Rewatching the U-Stream video so I can hear Steve’s laugh again before I end my day. :)

  11. Woo says:

Just so we are clear on everything or at least everything is clear to me, the body that Lex is currently in and the random organs are the best from the remains from Cadmus Labs plus Alt Lionel’s heart and Lord Darkseid used his powers to put all those organs into the clone Lex’s body (the best that was left) and Lex’s brain. Am I correct?

  12. Em says:

On a lighter note, the audio alone is almost just as fun to listen to as it was getting to watch it live – probably because it sounds like it was recorded in Hazlehurst, GA on Steve & Derek’s end as opposed to the live mix… and the fact that I didn’t realize how distracting that cake was! The whole rest of the conversation that was going on between Joe, Robin & Damian is completely drowned out by the sounds of culinary bliss created by that cake!

  13. Em says:

@Woo – That sounds right to me. Franken-Lex with a “Blank” slate and his father’s heart… another “father becomes the son” parallel, perhaps?

  14. James says:

    @Woo You are correct,sir.

  15. Vin says:

    Hey Guys,

I just wanted to say thank you to the entire cast of this Podcast! I have been listening for the past 2 years and I am not really one to comment and talk much but it was a great 2 years and you made the show that much more better. You guys made me laugh and explained alot of the background mythos that was confusing to me until you all explained it! I wish you all the best in what you do and I am looking forward to Geek out loud.

One final Question because i did not hear any of you talk about it on this last podcast and i Hope Steve, Derek, Damien, Joe or Robin and chime in on this, but What did you guys think of Oliver’s redempttion and how did u feel that he basically 1 shot Deesad, Granny and Godfrey? I mean they seemed very powerful in other episodes and he just took them out. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks again for the wonderful years!
    -Vin

  16. Woo says:

And Mr. Hummerich brings up a good point I find it ironic that once again Lionel was killed by his son daughter and his son.

  17. Heather says:

Guys, what can I say. Awesome podcast as always. I loved seeing/hearing your reactions (I wasn’t going to watch the live feed, but once I started I couldn’t stop) :) Even though I’ve had a few days for the amazing-ness of the finale to sink in, I still can’t get over how great it was. I don’t know how they did it, but it was everything I could have imagined and more. I was crying and cheering the whole time and I would love to be able to say I had a favorite scene, but they were all so epic I couldn’t possibly choose one. But from the time Jonathan told Clark to always hold on to Smallville/handed him the suit, I lost it. Steve and Derek, don’t be ashamed of your reactions, it was awesome to see you guys because that’s almost exactly what I did at that point. Smallville has been an amazing journey, and I’m so glad that I found SHoE to enhance that experience. I love you guys and can’t wait to here more from all of you–honestly, I would listen to all of you talk about something as mundane as watching paint dry. So thanks, good luck to you all and remember, to quote Joe, “You are great!”

  18. James says:

@SHoE Team 5 You guys were/are great! Big,big Thank You for everything! You’ve made me smile, laugh, have been very informative, although you often joke you aren’t and in the end of this podcast and I’ve watched it,twice(it can still be viewed on UStream ppl)first time I was with a group of ppl,so I couldn’t focus on what you were saying that much..and I was in an altered state of mind, lol…but the second time in the end, damn it you “almost” made me cry, seeing that friendship, companionship, that true, genuine connection you guys really have and are aware of it,cherish it!
Talking about friendship and memories and inside jokes, well it is amazing and it is a fantastic true life story,it IS because of this show we all share love for and I feel privileged to have at least been sort of part of that, just witnessing it.

  19. James says:

Ha! Stermien and Joebin have united in one team for this one!!

  20. Steve says:

    Vin,

Keep in mind that this isn’t the last time that Superman or the League will have to deal with Darkseid, Desaad, Granny, or any of the other evils of Apokoplips…this was just the first time. Smallville’s take on these characters was a “vessel” type take on things. Oliver’s shot destroyed the vessels that were carrying the true entities of Granny and the gang. In the same way that Clark destroyed Darkseid’s vessel. When he sent Apokolips away, Superman created such a worldwide sense of goodwill and hope that Darkseid couldn’t operate in the shadows of darkness any longer. He had to go back and regroup.

What we got to see was Superman actually begin…and it wasn’t by saving a falling reporter or helping launch a shuttle, or even simply saving a plane…he saved the world…in my opinion three days removed, one of the best introductions to SUPERMAN ever.

  21. Eva says:

Loved the live show!! I listed to as much of it as I could that night but had to sign off around 1. You guys are so funny and really brighten up my work day when I listen to a new show. I’ll miss you!

As for the finale–I loved it. Exactly what it should have been. But I guess instead of all that time hoping for a wedding I should have been hoping for a marriage! ;)

But seriously, I think my favorite part was Clark saving Air Force 1 and looking in the window at Lois as their theme played–Oh My-Lanta. I was gone from that point on.

Can’t wait for the last SHOE!!

  22. Vin says:

Thanks for the response Steve =) ,

I had no problems with the finale at ALL! I was very happy, and i have watched it like many of you since the pilot. I was geeling out the whole episode and loved the way that it was all done in how he made his final turn into the Man of Steel.

I was just curious really, if you felt that the Ollie thing was just like, oh we have to get rid of them somehow to tie up a plot point and decided to do it the way they did. I mean Ollie couldnt even touch Granny the episode before and now he shoots 3 arrows and 1 shots them, i was just like HUH lol. Some people say that granny may have destroyed the bow but those were the arrows to the bow, I dont know. But thanks again for all you guys have done! And can’t wait to hear Geek Out Loud!

  23. Adam says:

    @Vin

Don’t forget though, that in Prophecy Oliver still had the Omega symbol on him so maybe the fact that he no longer had it when he met the 3 had an influence on their control over him? A bit like how Darkseid could affect Clark early on in the season but not Kara.

  24. Vin says:

    True true good point Adam!

Is there a place i can DL the Video Version of this podcast? I really wanna get a visual of all the things they were talking about in the episode, except for the cake of course! Because some people were to busy eating it to show us what it looked like =p hahah

  25. Tanner says:

I think you can still watch it on the page.

  26. I must say. I am not very disappointed about Darkseid’s portrayal on Smallville. I say this because as Steve said, this is about Superman. NOT Darkseid, Lois, Oliver, Chloe, the Kents, or even Lex Luthor. It was Clark Kent – Kal-El – Superman’s first and finale trial. That is how this show was always going to end, and I think it was fantastic. 10/5 guys!

  27. James says:

@Vin I have to admit,I had that same question and mostly because i wondered what about telekinesis. So what you’re saying @Adam is they could affect, even Granny with her telekinetic power only people touched by darkness?

BTW You still CAN watch video stream on the site,no problem at all @Vin

  28. James says:

@Michael,I agree with you,but to show Lex was very important..even more than Darkseid in the finale, exactly because of it being about Superman and Superman is very much defind by his main nemesis.

  29. Woo says:

http://www.ksitetv.com/6569/hellcats-is-cancelled/ Hopefully Tom Welling will get to produce other projects. Looks like The CW is really going to do some redesigning for the next season. For the better or worse only time will answer that.

  30. Woo says:

I just heard on CNET.com (a tech website for those who don’t know) that computer chip maker Nvidia new Quadcore processor is named “Kal-El” now if we can get a Google Android Tablet named “Brainiac” it will all tie together.

  31. @James ABSOLUTELY AGREE! Lex was very important, and this could NOT have been done without him! But, what I meant was that the Finale (although everything else was important) was/is really about Clark Kent becoming Superman).

  32. phill says:

@woo the specs sound cool(12 core gpu and 1440p) from the other names on the roadmap, wayne, logan, & stark i thaught it was a joke untill i saw it on nvidia’s blog

also i called it breaking in has been cancled

  33. James says:

    @Michael Yes it absolutely was!

  34. Tanner says:

    @Woo
Smallville and Hellcats are the only shows on the CW not coming back, not really re-designing. lol

  35. James says:

Canning Hellcats is only gonna make it better.I love Tom and I’m sorry, but honestly I don’t understand what he was thinking pitching such a show.I’m gonna be relatively polite and not say what I think about it.

  36. Woo says:

@Tanner I know that, but it seems like The CW is making the transition to be a total teen drama network with the exception of Supernatural and honestly, who knows when that’s ending.

  37. @Woo I will still watch Supernatural (cause I LOVE IT!), but after that show is over, I don’t think that I’ll ever be watching the CW again.

  38. Anthony Pa says:

    @ Woo and Michael

The transition that CW is doing is apparent but they’re doing it gradually. That’s perhaps one of the main reasons why Supernatural was renewed for a 7th season. CW didn’t want to take the risk of what many consider their two main shows ending at the same time. If the other shows that the’re promoting get strong reactions from the viewers, Supernatural will also be done.

Only shows I watched regularly on CW were Smallville and Supernatural but that list was cut down to one after the great series finale that Smallville had. Will be one of the many people watching it when it’s replayed.

  39. erin says:

i just what to say that i like this podcast but i was badly upset with the so-called mind wipe.i was even assamed at what the hosts had to say about that so-called wipe and worshiping the ground tess walks on talk.in order to get over my anger management problems with it.i have to believe that the memories will come back and that is why they had that final lex scene and why zod/lex for some reason was in that flashback.there is that and tess mentioned something about it just paralyzing the brain not destroying any memories.i do not know how lex will regain his memories but i have to believe that.the whole idea of memories being lost forever or and destroyed breaks my heart to much.there is that and how can he be president and strung arm perry white if his memories are not repaired.i feel the hosts of starkville’s host of el are giving to much credit to tess and i feel the only person who should be 2 steps ahead of lex is clark/superman.there is that and anything tess said to lex is wishing thing on tess’s part.she was dying at the time after all.
