@Woo That makes perfect sense. I like your theory.
@Woo You know,we’re just theorizing,so it could go one way or the other..or something different could be the explanation, but in your theory it almost seems as though Lex had been, not one,but at least a few steps ahead of everyone and that just seems to me kinda too early in the storyline for him to be such a dark mastermind. And at the time he’d just accepted his dark side,or gone to the dark side fully, but he was still too passionate, infuriated and angry over everything..in my view..you’d have too already bee much calmer or cooler villain mastermind in order to think so much ahead and draw such moves, who he ultimately will become.
Plus then you still have to explain his lack of knowing Clark’s true origin later on in other mediums, cause if he knew he would have used it against him at some point all right and I don’t think that even SV would go that far in changing things!
We’ll see and although my theory simplifies the explanation at this point,I have to say that I would love for your theory,or something like it to be true for reasons you and Natasha have said, have Rosenbaum to come back for a few episode arc as a real Lex,hold the truth over Clark and then in a confrontation between them have it resolved for the future..the memory loss and all!
I don’t believe it will happen though..first of all cause I really don’t think MR is coming back, although the hope is there, and secondly..we had that kind of a story arc between Zod and Clark in the previous season and it worked out great..Callum Blue did a great job,so it’s questionable if they would go that way again.
And BTW..the episode that you were talking about Woo..is that the one where the bad Lex shouts out “I am the villain of the story!!!”Because that’s just one of the greatest lines on SV ever!!
@Michael. Petty To quote, Dr. Fate: Thank you.
@James I see your point, that Lex may not at the point in the seventh season, been that much of a mastermind. But hey, who knows? We may never see Rosenbaum as Lex again.
@woo Well that’s exactly my argument..if it was announced MR is coming back,at least for a few episodes as Lex..who knows, but I’m afraid you’re right my friend,I’m afraid you’re right!
But I’m also positive it won’t spoile my enjoyment watching S10..in fact the best season so far which was S9 for me..didn’t have Lex in it..no matter what I think and how I admire Rosenbaum’s portrayal of Lex Luthor!
@James I think the series has proven in the eighth and ninth seasons the series can ivle without Lex Luthor because like The Joker, Lex Luthor can never truly die.
@Woo To true, Lex will never die. Although, if you look at the second issue of Superman: Secret Origins, Cosmic Boy mentions “The Death of Lex Luthor”. Just saying.
@James and Woo Yes, there is a possibility of Michael Rosenbaum NOT coming back to Smallville as (and I think we can all agree on this, maybe not, but I’ll continue anyway) our favorite Lex Luthor. But, I think we should all just sit back and see what happens, and enjoy whatever Lex referance they throw at us. We should just sit back, relax, and enjoy Smallville: The Final Season (season 10). Who’s with me!
@Every SHoE Fan Out There! NOT trying to steal Steve’s “King of Plugs” crown, but I recentally made two theme song/opening credits to Starkville’s House of El (one featuring Save Me and the other featuring Chocolate Pie). You can check them out at http://www.youtube.com/MJPETTY7. I really want to know what all you SHoEligans think, especially the long-time SHoE fans. So please check them out.
@Michael J. Petty Your “Chocolate Pie” one was better than your “Save Me.” The song fit better with the images on “Chocolate Pie” than on “Save Me.” My opinion.
@Michael J. Petty I am with you on both fronts one with enjoying the tenth season because look at all the writers are giving us in the tenth season. Darkseid, Deadshot, Brainiac, Kara, Sam Lane, Lucy Lane, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, “The Suit,” Smallville High, etc. So much stuff in the “Smallville Chowder” if this was an Old Country Buffet I’d say we are getting a full meal in the tenth season what do my fellow iPod, Zune, and Android SHoEligans think?
As far as favorite Lex Luthor’s… Rosenbaum is tied with John Shea from “Lois & Clark.” Both charming, cunning, charismatic, dark, funny, good-looking, and twisted. What one needs to create an ideal Lex Luthor.
@Woo Thanks for your input on the videos.
Yes, season 10 will have a lot in store for us this season, totally getting more than a full meal I would say.
My fellow Android, iPod, and Zune SHoEligans if you have not seen the Youtube link on SHoE’s Twitter please do, it is awesome!
I just saw the new CW trailer for the final season. It literally brought tears to my eyes.
“This fall, witness an event ten years in the making. One man will become the hero he was meant to be.”
That line just made it all the more real. It just hit me that this is REALLY it. The home stretch. 22 hours left to go before it is all over.
