I HOPE the finale is a 3 parter. To be honest, they should wrap up Apokolips and JLA in part 1, focus on the smallville mythos in part 2, and have part 3 transition to the Superman mythos.

Thank you so much, eatittwilight for the podcast post. I enjoyed their comments and speculations. I agree with Jason that I think Lois should know Clark’s identity and help him become(and name him) Superman. I always liked the L/C episode when she goes to an alternate universe and makes his costume and helps him become Superman. Please, whoever gets to go to Comic-con to the Smallville panel, post some video or audio of the event(if you can).

@Matthew Guy I have listened to the podcast for three years and finales are usually the longest wait. I admit I’m getting a little disappointed that we haven’t gotten it yet. But we have to remember the brain trust are busy people with their own lives. We Android, iPod, and Zune SHoEligans need to respect that. Don’t misunderstand me, I want Ep. 150 just much as you do but we just need to be more patient.

@Gabe Well here’s the thing about Metallo. I do not know, if this was just subtly written or just a story point that the writers just didn’t want to answer and they just wanted the fans/viewers/SHoEligans to figure out. That is this, we never really get the answers to was John Corben accidentally ran over by someone (i.e. hit and run) and someone just called 911 on their Android phone and he was taken to the E.R. then the Kandorians found him and then experimented on him or did they ramp into him with a mac truck with the soul purpose of experimenting on him? For me it would be kind of cool because in “Conspiracy” we find out that Zod knew nothing about the experiments; it would be great for me if that it was Aliah’s idea to create Metallo or at least tinker around with physically damaged humans.

As far as Metallo’s upgrade guys even though it would be a nice nod to have Lex Luthor upgrade Metallo because in Superman The Animated Series Lex did offer to make Corben into Metallo. But what I thought last year right before Comic Con when Brian Austin Green was announced to play Metallo that Bruno Mannhiem and more specifically Inter-gang would upgrade and or create Metallo once again another nod to Superman The Animated Series. I would see that happening more than Lex especially it would fit perfectly to have Metallo have ties with Inter-gang who has ties to Apoklips.

As far as the finale goes: It needs to be a four part finale. Not promoted as such but really what needs to happen is the first two parts need to be out about the JLA (Zatanna, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg, Canary, Aqua Man, Impluse, Kara, and Kal-El) and maybe some of The New Genesis people defeat Darkseid or whatever the main villain of the season is going to be. The last two parts/eps. needs to be where Ollie, Chloe, Lois, and Kal-El look back at who they were and ultimately who they need to be their last step that we SHoEligans are going to see on Smallville. Kal-El especially and his relationship with Lois. iPod, Zune, and Android SHoEligans… Thoughts… Please?

I love the idea of a 2 hour finale!! This season of Smallville is already shaping up to be the most epic!! Brian and Kelly are just amazing showrunners, and I am waiting very impatiently for season 10. I’m also excited for SHoE Episode 150. Any ideas when that will be coming out Steve or Derek? I imagine you guys are insanely busy, I’m just hoping for maybe an update b/c you guys really bring my spirits up when I’m depressed. Anyway, I think Woo has a pretty cool idea, and whomever suggested bringing all the JLA members in for a final battle kind of thing definitely has an epic idea. I also have an idea. What if Metallo were brought in for a several-episode arc to show his transformation? I think Lex should be the one that truly upgrades Metallo. That would be so epic to see BAG and MR working together. What does everyone think of that idea? It’s not particularly original since it’s been done in cartoons and such, but I think it’d be great for the show.

@Anthony Pa I feel we should have two, two parter ep. have like a JLA ep. where JLA members (Zatanna, Green Arrow, Cyborg, Canary, Aqua Man, Impluse, Kara, and Kal-El) and maybe some of The New Genesis people defeat Darkseid. That should be a two parter not run as like an “Absolute Justice” that should be like eps. 10×19 and 10×20. Then once whatever threat has been defeated for the season we should really have a two part ep. about people moving on (i.e. Ollie, Lois, Chloe, and Kal-El him specifically) and looking towards the future for each character. That should be run as a two hour event. Eps. 10×21 and 10×22 Fellow Android, iPod, and Zune SHoEligans What do you think?

@since1938 This was one of the strong points of Lois & Clark as a series for me because a story was always the set up for an ep. and I don’t believe the writers realize how much good material could come out of using that kind of format for Smallville. You bring up a good point also that Clark’s reporter thing is being used as a cover, and it has been that way for nearly a century (odd to say century) but Lois & Clark also brought up the fact that Clark Kent is also a really good reporter as well and it is not just a cover.

I hope we SHoEligans get to see Clark Kent in glasses at least for The Daily Planet/Metropolis stuff, he can remove them when he is on the farm.

@MJ I believe “Escape” had some of the best comedic quotes in the ninth season. My favorite quote, I believe is one of Derek’s as well… Lois: “Nice Helmet” Dr. Fate: “Thank you.”

Let’s talk about best reveals of the ninth season: I think either the reveal of the JSA IBM computer in “Absolute Justice” is mine. Johns is correct, very funny and the look on Chloe’s face is just classic. The look on her face is like “This so so not the Sony Vaio All in One I was hoping for.” Either that or Lois’ Scottish skimpy out in “Escape.”

Just a curious question that I wanted to see what you guys think.

With the 10th season being announced, doubtful that’ll change, as the final one do you think that the final episode should be an extended one? I’m not talking about the 4th season finale where it was basically only ten additional minutes before they did a long preview for the Batman Begins movie.

In my opinion I think that it should be a 90 minutes and have the last 15-10 minutes to wrap up all of the characters before ending the series. Two hours would be even nicer but I’ll be okay with the 90 minutes. Am I the only one who feels the same?

@Woo, I ABSOLUTELY want to see Lane and Kent doing a genuine investigation together. I think MJ or Kimmie someone else I can’t remember also suggested that Clark and Lois could be gunning for the same story to show that iconic competitive streak of theirs. But really? I just want it acknowledged in more than just words that Clark’s job at the DP is more than just a cover. I want to see the evidence of this work he’s putting in at the paper, and as much as I adore Lois, I just want it to be shown that she’s not the only future Pulitzer winner in this relationship.

I’m going to start with the funniest quotes of the season to laugh and smile before Comic-Con this weekend. Thsi season had some really great comedic moments and I don’t know about you guys but the laughter puts me in a great mood before Comic Con. Care to join in??

A few that pop into my head. Most of them are probably going to be Oliver and Lois because they tend to have the funniest lines. However, I have to give an honorable mention to our very own Clark Kent who had a few great lines himself this year. This was one of the first seasons in a while where it seemed like Clark was smiling a ton. In random order….

I had a great new idea (new to me). With 2 kids I don’t have the time to sit down and re-watch Season 9 so I am doing the next best thing.. @since1938 Your point of wanting Kal-El to get a byline in the tenth season brings up an interesting point that I really hadn’t thought of until today. Ever since Clark started at The Daily Planet we have not seen him or Lois have an ep. on the series that was about Lois & Clark writing a story. Sure, it has been in the background of a few eps. like in 09×19. But the thing I always enjoyed about Superman The Animated Series and Lois & Clark that “filler” eps. were about a story or a problem about a story that Clark by himself or with Lois had to solve and later write about and since began working at The Planet in the eighth season we haven’t got much of that on Smallville.

I know maybe because it isn’t really a Superman series proper, maybe that is the reason. However, one thing about Lane and Kent that has always held true since the inception of the characters in 1938 is what a great writing team they are. Not just lovers, but a great reporting team hopefully we SHoEligans will get to see that in the tenth season. Opinions? What do my fellow Zune, iPod, and Android SHoEligans think about that?

JLA (Black Canary, Zantanna, Aquaman, Impluse, Cyborg, and Martian Manhunter.

As far as villians Apoklips villains (i.e. Darkseid, Female Furies, Granny. etc.)

I’d really love it for Marsters to return to play Brainic once more (I don’t know how) but I’d love to see it.

Lex (of course)

Zod (One could do a “Bloodline” type ep. with him) plus with Kara maybe in more than one ep. I would love to see it happen.

Checkmate (Amanda Waller in general but they are good background players) I have always thought Joss Whedon’s Wolfram & Hart from Angel was inspired from Checkmate and Amanda Waller.

Lastly, I would love to see Bruno Mannhiem return or just have Inter-gang in general because there are other bosses in Inter-gang other than Bruno. My point is, one could have other bosses taking orders from Bruno without him actually being on screen. I would just like to see Inter-gang because I know from comics and from the animated series they have close ties with Darkseid. What are my fellow Zune, iPod, and Android SHoEligans choices?

@Tim, I definitely agree with your top two choices of Orion and Mr. Miracle, especially since I think those two characters are kind of (re: very) essential to helping Clark defeat Darkseid since one of them is his son and the other was successful in escaping Apokalips, and also since Scott and Orion were exchanged as part of the treaty between Apokalips and New Genesis. I just think Clark would need more than just his usual allies in order to understand who Darkseid is and how Apokalips works, and he would need allies from that world that closely understands the history. Even though High Father and some of the other New Gods would be able to give that information, Orion and Scott were more directly affected than any other New God.

@Woo The original Black Canary was Dinah Drake, mother to Dinah Lance, so they have most likely met. Still, it would be cool. Plus, in the comics, Jay raised Bart after Max Mercury died, and since Bart used his identity in Run, he obviously knows him. @Woo That is very true, since it has been stated we will see the JSA HQ, we may see some members like Alan or Jay. If we get a Lantern, Alan is most likely since he has no connections to the Corps. Also, rumor has it they are casting Shiera, so perhaps we will see Hawkman find his reincarnated wife. If we get Jay though, Bart MUST be in the same episode.

@Mike I think for a while we will see the “Boss Dark Side” persona, and maybe have his alien roots revealed by the midseason hiatus and wrapped up in maybe the 3rd to last episode. I believe that Darkseid will have an impact in the upcoming season. Whether we actually see him in the first couple of episodes is the question though. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind having him remain in shadow in the being episodes and we just hear his voice. Then sometime before the mid season hiatus have him emerge from the shadows.

Even though we have the upcoming Green Lantern film, we could still get a GL with Guy Gardner as Warrior or Kyle Rayner has Ion. Since neither of these are Hal Jordan, and they wouldn’t have to call them “Green Lantern” I don’t see a problem. New topic! other than Batman and Wonder Woman, what DC heroes would you like to see introduced in Season 10? (I know it should focus on Clark, but this list is for fun) So, my top 10 list.

4. Captain Marvel (I still hate Warrior, as it should have been called SHAZAM, and use Billy Batson rather than Warrior Angel. Plus they insulted Big Honkin by calling him a theif! None the less…)

5. Steel (Could be inspired by the Blur, but this may be too close to Idol)

6.Kon-El (Yeah, yeah, I know. But this wouldn’t be the teeny bopper drama. Lex could clone Clark and use the clone to fight him. At the end, Superboy could leave when he is conflicted about having both good (Clark) and evil (Lex) in him. Though this could be too much like Bizarro. At the end though, he, Victor, and Bart could form the Titans)

@ Woo, the two keys are different colors or metals (BoR was golden, Fortress Key was silver), so if the younger fans were confused…well that’s their stupid fault. Not everyone is going to pay that close attention to detail as we more…obsessed fans do. Besides, while the “Giant Key” was amusing and nostalgic, I’m glad SV didn’t use it because it’s a little TOO comic booky for a live action tv show that is more dramatic. There were already too many Silver Agey elements that were introduced that I’m glad that PS&W FINALLY got away from in Season 9. However, I do agree that the Fortress security is starting to resemble that of the Luthor mansion. Maybe someone should ask about that at ComicCon:

This is just me being overly picky. But I just wanted to bring something to the comments table. I wish the kryptonian key was the same color as “The Giant Key” that Superman used in the golden age comics maybe a golden color instead of a metallic sliver. I bring this up because “The book of RAO” is basically the key with a shield cut out of its center. I wish the key had a golden tint to it to not confuse viewers. Especially the younger fans and or the fans who no nothing about Superman Canon. Plus, it would have been a nice nod to the comics if the kryptonian key was golden. Thoughts? Not necessarily Lex’s intentions to assist his ex-best friend, but one need to explain where Lex has been and what he remembers. I agree with your list, though I would add Arctic and Salvation. What does everyone think of the new Green Lantern suit? While I am one of those who wanted Reynolds as the Flash, and Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan, I am stoked for this movie. One of the comments I’ve seen is that it looks like he was skinned and shoved in glow in the dark contraception, but remember that it’s CG, so they can still change the suit if fans pan it. I rewatched the Justice League Unlimited finale in refreshing my Darkseid knowledge, and how awesome would it be if Lex came back and teamed up with Clark to save the Earth, then sacrifice himself to save the Earth from aliens, and because he thinks only he has the right to take down Clark, this could show Lex’s genius and true belief that he is the good guy. You can use this to set up Lex forgetting the secret, and also sort of as a pseudo redemption only more tragic that he “died”. Which if they show Clark as Supes, Lex can look up in the sky, revealing he is alive. Thoughts SHoEligans.

New Topic: Biggest Smallville moments (i.e. “game changing moments.”)

For me:

1. Jonathan Kent passing away in “Reckoning” (I don’t believe the series has been the same since that his death changed the series from that point on.)

2. Virgil Swann introduced (Come on, it is Christopher Reeve.)

3. “Descent” when Lionel Luthor is murdered (A huge moment and probably even to this day, my favorite ep. of Smallville)

4. “Justice” (Even though there have been better team ups like “Absolute Justice” and “Legion” the implication of “Justice” would be felt for seasons to come.)

5. “Doomsday” (The first true death of an “innocent” on Smallville in the form of Jimmy. Jimmy had done nothing wrong to deserve what happened to him. Lionel had a lot of past sins, Jonathan Kent made his deal with Jor-El he knew the future risks. But Jimmy truly an innocent. This is also the ep. where Clark begins to discover he needs to move forward with his training.)

6. “Absolute Justice” (Clark finds out more about his destiny through Dr. Fate. But also finds a kindred spirit in Hawkman learning about how to be a leader of a team but also learning how to deal with adversity when trying to do the correct thing.)

I am probably missing a lot of moments but these are the ones that stick out to me the most. What are yours my fellow Zune, Android, and iPod SHoEligans?

The reason we got Bart Allen as a representation as “The Flash” on Smallville is because Warner Bros./DC have always had in the last few years an intention to do a live-action Wally West “Flash” feature. And they didn’t want to confuse fans and plus DC is very protective of what characters be represented in what mediums. In all honesty and this would be an awesome thing for Geoff Johns to bring in the tenth season. If he so chooses. Alan Scott as The Green Lantern. Plus, that would tie in with bringing back Hawkman and Star Girl and the JSA in general and Amanda Waller. Opinions Android, Zune, and iPod SHoEligans?

@Tim If the writers brought Kara back just to kill her off that would equally upset as much if they did that to Lana when they brought her back in the eighth season. I like The Legion idea as far as Darkseid goes. And it wouldn’t mess up continuity in terms of Smallville goes for The Legion because recall what Rokk said in “Doomsday” when Chloe did an “assistanted suicide” for Davis with the use of meteor rock that changed the future and everything Kal-El did after that also changed the future. So it would be conceivable that the L.O.S.H would know about Darkseid and what he is planning to do. If the writers decide to bring him in. @Ian yes, it has been confirmed on KryptonSite. We actually heard the word Lazarus in season 3 with Adam Knight and the Lazarus serum. My bet’s on it referring to Clark as well, and maybe a double meaning referring to Jonathan’s post mortem return. Many people on Superman Homepage think Kara is going to be killed off, after maybe warning Clark about Darkseid like in the Superman/Batman arch and Overgirl in Final Crisis. I hope they don’t kill her off, and maybe the Legion returns and she goes to the 31st century with the reprogrammed Brainiac 5. This would mirror the comics and JLU cartoons. Thoughts SHoEligans?

@MJ Totally concur with what you are saying. Truly like I said in a previous post Lex is still very much a part of the series even though he is no longer on screen. Very much like Soap Opera villians who are in prison or pressumed “deceased” there is always that dark cloud they still cast in terms of Lex this for sure the case for Oliver and Mercy, because there is still a bit of uncertainity of how or when Lex will effect the future. I also agree with you that if performers don’t want to be on a TV Series they shouldn’t be forced.

Vandervoort I’d love to see again especially if they get Marsters or Callum Blue to return for like a “Bloodline” or a “Blue” type ep. in the tenth season.

Here’s an interesting idea for the tenth season maybe for the 200th ep. a return to Belle Reeve? Clark faces his meteor freak past… Opinions Zune, Android, and iPod SHoEligans?
As far as Chloe goes she is still going to be referenced in terms of like E-mails, Windows Live Messenger Video Chats, and Phone conversations. Honestly, the character doesn’t need to be in every ep. Which is way I feel the writers did what they did, with Chloe in the ninth season. Having her be more a story point than a main character especially in “Roulette.” I believe this was done because the writers weren’t sure how much Allison they would get in the tenth season so if she did decide to do limited eps. It wouldn’t be jarring especially for us long time fans.

This is exactly what I was saying. And I truly think the show did improve after Lex and Lana were gone and the arc that they returned in Season 8 was one of the weakest. I don’t spew venom on it like some fans (well, I spew venom on Power, but I loved Legion and Bulletproof so they don’t count), but I could’ve done without it and been perfectly fine.

But if Laura V came back to help Clark in an episode, then I’d be all for it. I love Bloodline and the scene where Clark is begging Kara to take his hand because “you are my family” was heartwrenching and I loved it. Just thinking about that scene is making me even more excited for S/B: Apocalypse.

I would be completely fine if Lex only made a cameo appearance in the last few minutes of the series finale. Just to establish that he is has re-emerged/the rise of LexCorp/have him establish that he’s got his eye on Superman. That would be perfectly fine with me. At this stage in the game, if an actor truly doesn’t want to come back to the show….then I hate to be harsh…but I don’t need them. This show has shocked the hell out of everyone the last two seasons. I went on without Lana, without Lex (and improved in many people’s eyes) and it will go on without Chloe this year. If an actor doesn’t want to be there then I don’t need them there. So we’ll see what happens.

@Natasha, I agree that I’m more thrilled about Jonathan returning than Lex. I’d also be thrilled to see Martha and Perry make a return appearance. I’d also really like to see General Lane at least once before the end of the series. Particularly since he had such a large role in Secret Origins and had that great confrontation with Superman. And on the comedy side, I imagine a scene between General Lane and Clark would probably be hilarious because you know General Lane is going to hate him now.

In fact, Derek said something similar to that in the podcast for “Persuasion” when it was “hinted” that Rosenbaum may return for a small arc, if not for the series finale. It’s kind of interesting though that so many SHoEligans want to see Lex return and really has Lex ever really truly left the series? Sure, he is not on screen, but he is referenced more so than even Lana and Jonathan are. And if nothing else, the teaser for “Salvation” does let us know (like we were skeptical of it at all…) that Lex does return we just don’t how yet, if we ever get that information. To be clear I want Rosenbaum to do an arc as Lex in the tenth season if not, however it won’t make the tenth season stink. Opinions fellow iPod, Android, and Zune SHoEligans?

@Woo, I’m about to post an unpopular opinion, so bear with me.

If MR wanted to come back as Lex, then sure I wouldn’t mind seeing him return for nostalgia’s sake. But since he seems adamant about not coming back to the show in the foreseeable future, then I’m like “Holla, Deuces, and Peace Out”. I personally can get through this entire final season without seeing Lex and I will be just fine. The last two seasons of Smallville, with the exception of the first season, are my favorites of the series. Season 9 blew every other season out of the water, IMHO, and they did it without Lex. If Season 9 had been the last season, then with the exception of Clark falling to his death, everything that they showed us up to that point (including Lois learning the secret, and that amazing teaser in Salvation) would’ve been an amazing series finale and I would’ve gone out declaring Smallville my favorite TV show of all time. And they did it without MR/Lex Luthor. So, whatever, if he so adamantly doesn’t want to come back either for superficial reasons (the so-called baldness issue) or he just genuinely doesn’t have the time, then fine, I can get along for an entire final season without him as long as CLARK is on my screen. (And Lois, and I LOVE that Jonathan is making an appearance which was SO MUCH HIGHER on my list than seeing Lex again.)

@Anthony Pa you bring up an interesting point when it comes to Mia. Thinking back to “Salvation” depending on how long the time has been when we return from 9×22 to 10×01 (I’m assuming it is going moments after (similar to seasons 1&2, 4&5, 5&6, and 6&7) were to assume the JLA/JSA has no knowledge of what occurred between Zod and Kal-El and that he was stabbed and now Zod is on “New Krypton.” Also, depending on whether or it not Chloe will appear in 10×01. Mia may be the only person looking for Ollie. Reason being Kal-El may be in a coma after the attack by Zod and let’s remember the JSA/JLA including Chloe all think that Kal-El lead his people. The only person who does not know that is Lois. I wouldn’t mind seeing a Lois and Mia team up to find Ollie and Clark similar to Lana and Chloe in “Vertias” in the seventh season. Opinions, fellow Zune, iPod, and Android SHoEligans?

Amanda Waller I believe is most likely to return next season. It’s doubtful that she was killed off by Zod and having her and Checkmate would fill fitting seeing as how they were somewhat trying to “prepare” for what was to come.

I would also like to Brian Austin Green return. Considering that the episode “Upgrade” might’ve not been the best way to send off the character. Having him return for another episode or two would nice.

Toyman is someone else I enjoyed seeing. I believe he was only in two episodes and I enjoyed how he was protrayed in both of them. It would also help to explain what happen to him after being “recuited” by Tess to apparnetly fix up Metallo.

Having BOTH Metallo and Toyman show up on the same episode would lead to some interesting stuff.

Other hopefuls would be the two members of the Injustice gang that Tess put together. The kid from the season 8 episode “Prey” who became a living shadow. Of course, having Intergang for a couple of episodes would be nice to and maybe have them somewhat be connect with Darkseid.

Something I’m curious to see is whether or not the character Mia/Speedy will be involved in the 10th season. With Oliver being captured during the season finale she could be trying to find clues to what might’ve happen. Not saying bring her in as a main cast member but perhaps a recurring one and I would be curious to see how she and Clark would interact with one another.

@Natasha and Joanna, I totally agree. And you know, I honestly do respect that people have their fave characters. I’ve been a Superman fan my whole life and it’s honestly hard for me to put into words just how much I love Lois Lane. I’ve loved her since I was a little girl and I am beyond in love with Erica Durance’s portrayl of her. I find the entire creation of Lois Lane to be utterly fascinating when you consider the time period and the cultural climate of the 1930’s for women. Siegel and Shuster literally created this character to be Superman’s soulmate. That’s what people often don’t understand. And that’s why fans like myself get so pissed off when fanboys try to dismiss her or the romance in the Superman story was being unimportant. The relationship between Superman and Lois was part of the original vision for the character. Siegel and Shuster wanted them together. That’s why it’s always going to be Lois. Because Siegel and Shuster’s original vision for their character of Superman was for Lois Lane to be his foil and his soulmate. They wanted her to find out the secret very early on and over the course of the last 72 years her personality (including all of her “flaws” and what many people may perceive as negative “quirks” ) have changed very very little. As an English geek and a lover of literature, it flat out fascinates me that these guys created this character who is so flawed and yet so lovable in a time where many fictional female characters were designed to be housewives or demure damsels in distress. So make no mistake….next to Clark himself, Lois is my second favorite character not only on Smallville but in any version of the Superman story.

But that being said, I would show up at Comic Con in a SECOND even if it was only to show my appreciation to Tom Welling for 9 years of dedication, dignity and grace playing this character. He has done such a beautiful job on this show and he is, in my opinion, CRIMINALLY underated as an actor. He is the heart and soul of the show.

I love the entire supporting cast to death. Even Allison, who is not my favorite by any means….I STILL like her very much and I still wish her so much success in her future career because I think she’s lovely. But I just can’t understand why anyone can consider themselves a true fan of the show if they are not first and foremost a fan of Tom Welling. Becaue it’s HIS show. How could he possibly not be enough for someone? I just don’t get it. I totally understand that we all have our favorite characters. But how can you watch Smallville and not first and foremost root for Clark?????? It blows my mind.

I was going to the panel regardless because this is the final year of the show and my very first time going to the West Coast, let alone my first time to SDCC, but the fact that Tom (my Clark Kent) is going to be there just made it that much more special. And obviously, judging from past comments of mine, I completely agree with @MJ that Tom/Clark is the reason for the show. I’m happy to be seeing Erica, Cassidy, and Justin, and to see and (hopefully) meet a couple of the writers, but…Tom. Seriously. I bought my tickets for Friday and Sunday just hoping that one of those days would be the one for the SV panel (Saturday was sold out) and that hopefully TW had a good enough experience last year to come again. Now all I have to do is just get in that damn room.

People are watching Smallville for different reasons (they have their favourite characters that they are rooting for) – and I totally understand that…
But, I agree with @MJ on this one – Tom Welling is the heart of Smallville (without him there would be no show).

Being there at the Comic Con this year – would be like a dream coming true…I live in Europe – so getting the ticket and then flying to the US wasn’t in the realm of possibility for me.
The whole Comic Con adventure is just too expensive – financially I can’t afford it.

So, I guess what I’m trying to say is – I’m really jealous of Smallville fans who live in America (or other close-by countries) and will be attending the Smallville panel this year.
It will be HUGE! This is the last season of Smallville – and the 2nd time that Tom Welling decided to go to San Diego. And I’m sure that he made that decision partly because he wanted to show his appreciation and gratitude to the fans who have been supporting him and the show for so many years.

To see Tom, Erica, Justin, Cassidy, the writers & producers of the show – would be so unbelievably exciting for me! This is probably the last time, the last opportunity to meet the cast and interact with them.

(Btw, to meet other Smallville fans, who share my passion for the show – would be totally awesome!)

Hopefully, I’ll watch the Smallville panel on youtube…*keeping her fingers crossed*

Just my opinion, but I think that the fact that Tom Welling, the true STAR of Smallville for the past 9 going on 10 years is going to be making an appearance is more than enough reasons to attend. But hey, what do I know? But then again, in my opinion, Welling has been the heart and soul of that show. He has had an AMAZING cast of supporting actors backing him up over the years. Just amazing. Michael, Kristin, Allison, Erica, Annette, Jon. S., John Glover, Justin Hartley, Cassidy….all amazing at what they do. But without Tom…there is no show. Smallville is Tom Welling.

I also think the fact that Erica Durance, Cassidy Freeman and Justin Hartley attending is icing on the cake because they are amazing as well.

I think that Allison Mack is lovely. It would be wonderful if she could attend. But I respect the fact taht she has chosen to move on with her career. I have no doubt that she was invited to attend because the producers have stated how much they love the entire cast. She may have just been too busy and I can respect that. But I have never personally felt that she is any more special than any other member of the cast. And right now, I have to be honest that she’s 3rd behind Erica Durance and Cassidy freeman in terms of my fave females on the show. ::shrugs::And Tom Welling, as the true star of the show, would always be enough of a draw for this Smallville fan. I’d KILL to be there just to show my support for him and his legacy with this show.

But that’s just me. :)

If they do kill off Green Arrow at the end of Season 10 ,and if they do bring on Darksied during Season 10, I think it would be pretty cool if they “kill” ollie with Darksied’s omega beams. We all know that Darksied’s omega beams might not actually kill ollie (The Return of Bruce Wayne is an example) and just send him back in time and that way Ollie could “return from the dead” in his own show without having to bring on Hal Jordan/The Spectre.

I think if they did it that way, it wouldn’t have to neccessarily be DC’s universe. Kind of like Smallville.

I want to ask Justin Hartley a question actually where is Ollie’s place in Smallville because with Chloe not every ep. are we SHoEligans going to see more of Dinah? Are we going to see more of Mia? Really and truly, Tess and Ollie are really the only two characters that are season regulars that we SHoEligans don’t really know where they will end up more or less because we know where Kal-El and Lois will end up we just don’t how they will get there. It could be case that Ollie could die at the end of the tenth season to mirror his comic book counterpart and he could be brought back to life on a Green Arrow Spin-off (not saying there will be one) just saying it’s a storyline that could make a lot of sense. What do my fellow Android, iPod, and Zune SHoEligans think?

I’m pretty sure I will be there! I have my plane booked, and I *should* be getting my Comic Con pass from my video game producer friend for Sunday once I get there.

I have a few questions though that I’m hoping Derek or some of the previous attendees could answer as this is my first year going. How early should we get in line for the panel? First thing in the morning? Does the line really start forming that quickly?

Also, is there anyway we could be considered press to do interviews afterward on behalf of SHoE?

And if so, do you want us to wear a SHoE tshirt or something? Right now I am planning on wearing my Red-Blue Blur clothes – I’ve got the red jacket from replicaprops.com along with a great blue tshirt. Hopefully Derek will contact me with details (jcheisel @ gmail . com).

@Joanna, yes I agree with you. And I certainly don’t mean that as any offense towards anyone because I know that everyone that works for ShoE works hard and enjoys the show.

But coming from a professional perspective, if Derek and Steve, can’t be there, I just personally feel as though Brian has proven himself as the best representative. I have not always agreed with everything he has said but I’ve never felt offended by the way he has presented himself. I am not on twitter but I’m going to be totally honest that I do occassionally follow the twitter accounts of others and I pay attention to the way people speak and how they react to differing opinions in the fandom etc.

Here’s hoping that Brian is the voice of ShoE. I feel as though he will treat the entire cast fairly without playing favorites (except for Tom because he’s clearly the star) and I also feel as though he will respect all of the various plotlines/stories that we all care about and represent them fairly.

Sounds like there will be surprises, just looking at the list of cast members there it appears that this year will be much smaller in terms of cast on the panel. Disappointing that Loeb will not moderate the panel, but it is hopeful news that since Jonhs will moderate he will write another ep. here is me hoping for another “Legion” ep.

I have a question for my fellow iPod, Android, and Zune SHoEligans do you guys remember back before the eighth season that it was announced before Comic Con that Doomsday was coming to Smallville and Sam Witwer was going to be playing him? I realize that Zod was coming in the ninth season, but I’m trying to remember if Callum Blue was announced to be playing Zod before Comic Con. My point is do you think it will be announced before Comic Con officially that Darkseid and Granny Goodness will be in the tenth season or will that be a Comic Con panel surprised? I so wish I could go to Comic Con and see what Smallville plans on doing but unfortunately I won’t be able to attend.

Sounds like it’s going to be good to see the main cast appearing. Likely there’s going to be some surprises announced. Maybe revealing characters that’ll appear in the upcoming season. Possibly saying if any of the actors, namely Tom Welling, will direct an episode.

Hopefully the trailer will help to get the fans more interested for what’s to come. Too bad though that with Derek apparently not being able to be there this year we won’t get him yelling out like last time.

I believe that it was said that he was one that shouting during the preview trailer from last year. I could be wrong.
