Preview Clip: Sacrifice

The season is drawing to an end and here is a short clip from this week’s episode “Sacrifice”. Green Arrow and Zod meet to exchange some words and I can only imagine that this conversation will get heated before it’s over. Enjoy the clip!

    Unless he’s got a green/blue K-arrow, that’ll be a really quick scene.

  2. Andrew says:

This looks to be a awesome episode. Things are really gearing up for the finale. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.

  3. swarm87 says:

so i dont get any credit for finding it and posting it in the forums?

  4. Derek says:

Don’t know what you mean swarm, the clip has been posted on media outlets and released through CW publicity for a couple days now, we just haven’t gotten around to posting it.

  5. MJ says:

Are we to assume that Oliver doesn’t know that Zod has powers? I feel like I missed something here.

  6. Rocco says:

@MJ – I’d hope that SOMEONE told Oliver that Zod has powers, but it doesn’t look like he was there to face Zod. He was “waiting for Tess.” He’d have to defend himself somehow. He also says that Zod is capable of “starting World War III”, so I think he might know.

  7. Sarita says:

oh buddy! this is gettin’ good!

  8. James says:

Are there any of those green K weapons stash left,or did Zod and Clark take them all out in Upgrade?

  9. Natasha says:

@ James, I was wondering the same thing. There may still be the one that Oliver moved (the one Chloe doesn’t know/isn’t supposed to know where it is), but other than that I think Clark and Zod took out the rest.

  10. Rocco says:

I think Zod has some kryptonite anyway. It’s the only thing that’ll defeat Kal so he has to have some (he had the dagger anyway)

  11. Brian says:

I expect to cringe a bit at the conclusion of this scene.

I wonder if Ollie knows that Zod has powers because the arrow looks like a syringe and there is no green glow. Although Chlollie pillowtalk could involve the Kandorians.

  12. James says:

Pillowtalk or just talk..I think that a “little” thing like Zod having superpowers is worth mentioning unless Chloe has started keeping things from Ollie too,or she haven’t had an opportunity..I don’t know.I was wondering about the weapons and does Oliver know that Zod has powers cause he seemed so sure of himself while talking to him,but if he doesn’t know and wasn’t there to necessarily face Zod I’m afraid that’s going to be really quick scene like Rocco said and Ollie’s gonna get his but kicked..unfortunatelly!

  13. Randy says:

Wow, that scene is so nerve racking. Ollie’s gonna get his a** kicked. Ollie seems very careful choosing his words and somewhat intimidated. S.H.O.E. Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much better than other Superman podcasts.

  14. Tim says:

Hey guys I was thinking, now that Clark’s blood runs through the Kandorian’s veins, would they be able to escape the phantom zone?

  15. Brian says:

Wow Tim, that is an excellent point. I wonder if it will ever become something we have to worry about. Of course they would have to find the spot and know that it would work. I would assume that Zod and the Kandorians donated their DNA before the Zone was created. But who knows.

  16. Stan says:

@Tim: I don’t think it would work. I liken it to a blood transfusion, and DNA from the donor does not stay in the recipients blood, even in whole blood transfusions.

Here’s a link I found that explains it:
    http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1418/does-a-blood-donation-mess-up-dna-evidence

  17. Natasha says:

I was trying to come up with a reason why the clone’s wouldn’t have Clark’s DNA, but thank you @Stan for that because it was WAY more logical than the one I came up with. All this speculating is making me more anxious for the last two eps this season.

Speaking of the PZ, someone somewhere (probably here, but I don’t remember) specced that if Clone!Zod was sent to the Phantom Zone at the end of the season, that PZ!Zod could use Clone!Zod as his vessel, thus “lining up with the comics”.

  18. Rocco says:

One thing that always keeps me guess/bugs me/but also leaves things really open for interpretation is the Green in Green Arrow. EVERYWHERE else in the Smallville universe, green things always mean contain green Kryptonite. Seriously, when has something been green that wasn’t kryptonite and not caused by chloroplasts? The only time (i’ve noticed) this is not true is when we’re in the presence of Green Arrow (or any of his belongings)

I’m going to agree with @Brian that it looks like a syringe and you can’t see any green, nor green glow (but what else would a syringe in Smallville be filled with if not some Kryptonite derivative) But the syringe observation triggered my ramblings about the Green Arrow color choice in the Kryptonite ladened world of Superman.
Thanks for listening, stay tuned for more half-thought-out ramblings.

  19. Stan says:

That’s how I’d like the Zod/Kandorian story to wrap up, Clark (maybe w/ some help from Kandorians) puts Zod in the Phantom Zone, while the Kandorians fly off to start New Krypton. Clark doesn’t kill anyone, and his strategy of befriending Zod and the Kandorians is validated. That’s probably too clean of a finish, but it’d be a cool way of loosely lining up with what’s going on in the comics, but in their own Smallville way.

  20. Stan says:

Obviously my comment was in response to Natasha’s.

  21. Rocco says:

If I was Clark, and I realized my blood had all these amazing properties, I’d start saving some up at the Barn and Fortress and Watchtower. Pretty good thing to have in-case something happens to me.

  22. Natasha says:

@Stan, I think your ending is rather Epic in terms of Smallville. How epic would it be if Clark was proven right for a change? VERY!

  23. Sarita says:

    @ Stan

The only problem is that there would be 2 Zods in the PZ. I think it would be absoutely amazing if in a major plot twist the following happens in the finale:

    1) Zod while asking his favor of Lois puts his hand on Lois’ shoulder(much like Clark did in CHARADE) and Lois can feel that Zod is not really the Blur.

    2) The final moments are Zod and Clark pretty much in a fight to the death. Zod is about to kill (?) Clark and suddenly out of nowhere we hear a gunshot. Zod topples over and behind him we see Lois with a smoking gun. Executive Producers: Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson.

Now before anyone goes off on me let me defend my hopes and dreams:

    1) Lois would have used a krypto-bullet

    2) Its not OOC b/c Lois has killed before (GONE) and technically Zod isn’t human

    3) I think it would also work if Chloe shot Zod but it’d be much more cliff hanger-y if Lois shot him b/c in her mind either she just shot the Blur to save Clark or she knows (this is the most likely and better option)

It won’t happen but in my opinion it’d be really frickin’ cool! What do ya’ll think?

  24. Rocco says:

I’m predicting the show will end with Zod sacrificing himself to save Clark. One of the bad guys (checkmate, red queen (if its bad), Tess, etc..) will have some trap/plan to kill the Blur. Clark will fall for it, and at the last second, Zod steps in, takes the hit and saves Clark. Mark it down, that’s my prediction… but maybe Zod can’t die yet b/c of continuity…

  25. James says:

@Stan That ending really would be cool for all the mentioned reasons and I don’t think that’s too clean of a finish,in fact I wouldn’t be suprised if something at least very close to that actually ends up being the wrap up of Kendorian arc, cause we still have an epic way to get there for sure!!

  26. James says:

@Rocco I think Zod can’t die yet for that very reason of continuity..Uniting his phantom and his actual vessel in the Zone seems more probable at this point cause of the things yet to come in the future, but then again who knows!

  27. Stan says:

@Sarita: I would have PZ!Zod merge with Clone!Zod (like what James said), then we’d have a physical presence for the Zod that destroyed Krypton.

I like #1, it would kind be like a bizarro version of the LnC reveal. I’d initially thought that the shoulder touch meant it would go down like it did in Lois & Clark, but I like them using it your way and coming up with their own reveal.

As for #2, I think that would be interesting, but I just favor Clark’s validation. Plus, Lois doesn’t know about kryptonite. Your sub-point #3 kinda makes part of me want to see it go down that way though, b/c that would qualify as a Holy Sh!t moment

  28. Stan says:

Just realized I had some faulty logic in my last post, as Clark could still very much be validated in Sarita and my examples, I just like the merging Zod aspect I guess. And seeing Zod hopelessly trapped in the floating PZ glass (or whatever it’s made of) would be funny to me

  29. Sarita says:

    @ Stan

I’m rolling on the floor just thinkin’ about it! : D

  30. pendragon says:

I think it would have been very interesting if they had allowed Zod to “reform” to some degree or at least, enough to prove Clark’s methods of putting faith in even the worst of people, but as that conclusion becomes clear have PZ!Zod take over the body. It would definitely serve the dual purpose of keeping Zod evil for future conflicts, while supporting Clark’s idealistic belief that given the right chance and the right circumstances they aren’t inherently evil. And sort of make nice classic tragic hero scenario with clone!zod, considering that ultimately his own future could not be avoided, despite making the right choice in the end. But I really don’t see the SV writer’s doing that at all. From the clip, he’s already showing some very callous/murderous tendencies.

I really do hope that they use Zod to, at least, in some way support Clark’s desire to give him the benefit of the doubt and Jor-El’s entreaty to save Zod. Even if it is only a momentary heroic act to save Clark in the face of a mutual enemy.

  31. Rocco says:

@pendragon – That’s what I was trying to say. I’m reminded of when Zod’s girl soldier (don’t remember the name) told the story of how he went into battle and dragged her out. I think Zod will see how important Clark is to the Kandorians and Earth.

On a side note, it would be kinda funny if Kandor was put back in a bottle… I don’t want to see that happen, but it would be plausible cop-out.

  32. Sarita says:

Has nothing to do with what we’re discussing but I think I just found (or rediscovered, rather) the gayest SV video ever – in both senses of the term. XD

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aat1W1mzENY

Don’t you all miss the days when SV trailers had nothing to do with what actually happened. Ridiculously misleading. lol.
