Season Nine Available For Pre-Order
Amazon.com has listed the complete ninth season of Smallville on DVD and BluRay for pre-order pricing. No word yet on release date but expect it sometime in August/September as usual. Extras will include deleted scenes, commentaries, and new featurettes: most notebly (we believe) on Zod and about the JSA two-parter: Absolute Justice. No artwork is available yet either. I wonder now that Dereck and Steve are “friends” with Damien Holbrook over at TV Guide Magazine that the next time DH talks with the producers if he could ask them if they would not mind having a fan wish list for extras on the season 10 DVD set. I know I have a list of things I have been wanting to see since season 1.
What do ya’ll think of that?
i really hope the bluray isnt a dvd clone with “better” audio because i want a PiP commentary/BTS for absolute justice, i’d even settle for real HD audio
This will be the first season since 5 that I bought the boxset (Season 8 doesn’t count because I got it for my birthday :D). Even though I have the iTunes season pass, I still want this set sitting on my self proudly with my other DVDs. And I’ll reserve it through SHoE because I love you guys and want to support you.
You know it’s funny…..I bought the Blu-Ray for Season 8 because hubby convinced me that we needed to get the Blu-Ray vs. the DVD for better quality. But you know what I really missed?
I missed the great montage set to “Save Me” that they have in the intro to the DVD’s and I missed the photos used for the episode pages. The Blu-Ray just goes right into the episodes without the intro and in a weird way that made me sad. I like the montages. I find that I love to see which scenes they use and I like the build up.
Well hell, I’ll stick to the DVD sets.
I’m really REALLY hoping that they do a full 10 season box set when the series concludes. With more extras. And commentaries. And gag reels.
I’m not asking for much.

I hope they come out with a huge box set with all seasons too. I am holding out to buy the blu-rays in hopes of this.

Hopefully, we will get either a Zod History or JSA History Featurette similar to the Supergirl and Green Arrow featurette. Mostly likely, we will get a commentary from Geoff Johns about writing “Absolute Justice” and hopefully Tom and Glenn Winter will be there as well to add some feedback from the directing side. Lastly, Allison Mack commentary for “Warrior”
@Susanna and Brian and see that’s the great thing about PlayStation Network, Amazon Unbox, Zune Marketplace, and Apple iTunes. One can still watch this season’s episodes without buying the Home Video. But I will still buy the Blu-ray.
