April Is Autism Awareness Month

SHoEApril

Every April here at SHoE, we recognize Autism Awareness Month in a special way, by raising donations in the name of one of our own. Kim Jordan and her family are one of the many trying to raise awareness of autism. Kim and her son Ethan participate and support the Walk Now for Autism Speaks each year.

330301_64101613133199You can have a special part in this! SHoE’s goal for Team Jordan is $2,000.00 & we’re already more than 1/4 of the way there! Just visit Charity.SmallvillePodcast.com & donate to Kim’s cause. If you can’t help monetarily, please help us spread the word about her walk & her page so that we can reach as many people as possible with her message. We know times are tough, but if you can give it’s greatly appreciated. If every listener of SHoE just donated $20 we’d be well over $1million! All we’re asking for is $2,000 though, which is extremely attainable.

For SHoE listeners we’re offering something special: if you donate $50.00 or more to Team Jordan, make sure you mention SHoE somewhere in the checkout process, then email us a copy of your receipt to mail@smallvillepodcast.com and you will receive 4 free Starkville’s House of El stickers! So what’re you waiting for, it’s win-win! $150.00 or more will get you a 2011 Smallville calendar and stickers, and $250.00 or more will get you a Clark Kent and Green Arrow Smallville action figure set and stickers.

Help out SHoE and Team Jordan now by visiting Charity.SmallvillePodcast.com and donating to help the cause and increasing awareness of Autism.

  1. Kim says:

Hey everyone! Thanks a million to Derek and Steve for getting behind me on this again this year. Last year, between SHoE and Geek Out Loud (the official podcast of geekoutonline.com), I was able to blow my goal out of the water. I am convinced that the Smallville fandom is the best fandom out there right now. If there’s a time to join together and help one of your own out, this would be it.

Like Derek mentioned, even if you can’t donate monetarily, all we are asking for is support and assistance in spreading the word about my walk. This cause is very near and dear to my heart. And with 1 in 150 kids being diagnosed with Autism, chances are, you know somebody who is affected.

Thanks again for the support from all of the Shoeligans. It means the world to me to be part of such a great network of fans of the best show on TV right now! :D
