Rosenbaum Not Returning; Begins New Project
Last week Michael Rosenbaum mentioned to his Twitter followers that he had “lots of good news coming soon…I’m not allowed to say something…”, which quickly led to a flood of replies from fans, hoping for the return of Lex Luthor in season 10 of Smallville.
Rosenbaum quickly replied, as to not lead anyone on: “It’s not Smallville related, I’ve already stated that I’m not returning, I’d never lead you guys on like that, I appreciate your support.”
Since that time, news of Michael’s new project has surfaced and we think it’s something that every Smallville fan can be happy about. Michael is developing a single-camera comedy for the SyFy Network called “Saved by Zeroes” in which he and Jonathan Silverman play actors still doing the convention circuit long after their show has been canned. Rosenbaum described the pilot as “Galaxy Quest” meets HBO’s “Eastbound and Down”. While we of course miss Michael on the show, it’s great to hear about this slightly tonuge-in-cheek project, and we’re very happy with the prospect of seeing him weekly on television again real soon.

Shame on the news source that suggested he was returning for 10 episodes (earlier this month). This news wouldn’t be quite as disappointing if we didn’t think he was about to “sign a deal”.
Total bummer.
I can respect his decision, but…DAMN IT! I hope he can at least return 4 the finale.
Who’s that guy with all the hair?
He actually looks pretty good with hair. Man-Crush on MR.
Sucks that Rosenbaum won’t be reutnring for the 10th season, even if it was for a few episodes. I can understand the reason though and glad that at least it kept us from guessing.
Although he said that, it wouldn’t be a big suprirse if it’s revealed later during the next season that he could make an appearance but that might just be false hope. Whatever the case, good luck on that new project of yours, Rosenbaum. You deserve it.
It stinks that he will not return, but like I’ve always said they can always record his voice and use it for the series finale. Like breaking news The Metropolis Star and The Daily Planet break:” Lex Luthor alive and takes control again of Luthor Corp.” This new series on SyFy sounds funny and as my fellow SHoEligans know from the DVD Commentaries from the second and third season Michael Rosenbaum humorous man.
Sounds like it could be a funny show. Doesn’t necessarily mean he can’t still be in some of the final episodes, as cable shows are typically 13 episode season if I’m not mistaken. Haven’t heard much from him on the acting front, so good to hear he’s got some stuff going for him.
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!
I guess it’s his choice, but I’m starting to wonder if he’s really doing this JUST TO THROW US OFF! And then who knows he might return.
I know he said he wouldn’t return, but I think it would be a cool idea if he returned-even if he didn’t have any lines- for the “series” finale, to be somewhat focussed on Lex’s return. After, ofcourse, tying up any superhuman threads. We miss ya Micheal!
