“Perry White” Tweets From Metropolis
It’s no real spoiler now that real life couple Michael McKean and Annette O’Toole (aka Smallville’s Perry White and Martha Kent) are returning this season for the penulimate episode, “Hostage”. File this under ‘old news’, but all last week Michael was on the set tweeting updates on his account. Like a pro, he gave out no real spoilers about the episode but he did share some real gems with the Smallville fandom in way of pictures.
Below are three of the eight pictures Michael captured and tweeted out to his followers, so we thought we’d put them here to share with you guys as well. Enjoy!
I can’t wait for Martha to return, this is long over due. I am interested to see what type of role Perry will be playing in the episoide and if the door is left open for S10.
This is probably the episode I’m most looking forward to in this last stretch of episodes. Even more than the finale. I’m so gonna have a complete nine season rewatch this summer.
When I first saw these three pictures on Michael McKean’s twitter account I felt so giddy! :) Michael McKean is such a great person! He listened to the fans’ requests and posted the picture with him and Erica (entitled “When Perry met Lois” – just reading this made me sooo excited) and then he took the picture of Erica and Annette (what a great reunion!). We all know that he didn’t have to do it, but he did… and for me as a Smallville fan it means a lot.
I think it also shows that M. McKean had fun interacting with Smallville fans on twitter, and I liked what he wrote about Tom, Erica and the crew…I just wish we could see more of him on Smallville – I’m crossing my fingers for the return of Perry White in season 10!
Right now I’m feeling super excited for this episode! : ) We’re going to see so many great moments: the reunion between Martha and Clark (oh Martha – how I missed you, welcome home!), Perry White coming back to Smallville and of course the iconic meeting between Perry and Lois (ok, in all honesty, I never thought I’ll see Perry and Lois interacting together on Smallville, but I guess the time has finally come – it just feels so unreal!).
So, yeah – I just can’t wait to see Hostage!

Not that it matters to me because it doesn’t, but I wonder if that is Annette’s real gray hair or did the make-up and hair department give her an older look for the iconic older Martha Kent.
