SHoE: Episode 140 – “Disciple”

We’re mere hours away from the two-hour event that is Absolute Justice, and that leaves us a little time to see where we’ve been. This week Steve and Smallville director Mairzee Almas discuss the first episode of 2010, ‘Disciple’, and tell you what you need to take away from it in order to look twoards the future. Enjoy!

At long last. I thought this wasn’t going to come up. Now need to go listen.

Putting this podcast out at this time is the equivalent of Jordan coming back late season in ‘95. You’d have liked it to be earlier, but you’re just glad to have it and it makes you even more excited for next year (or in this case, like 5 hrs later).

Lookin forward to the live show tonight!

Steve, I think a lot of people weren’t able to take the time to comment on this because it was released to close to the time that the 2 hour event premiere on Friday night. But I just wanted to take a second and say that it was a great podcast and I really loved your conversations with Mairzee Almas. She provided so much insight into the characters of the episode and the behind the scenes triva and I really really enjoyed it. This was a solid episode. I thought Justin did a GREAT job in this episode showing us the continuation of Oliver’s journey. Callum Blue and Tom really worked together and I agree with Mairzee that Zod’s scene with Lois was really really interesting. I also agree with you that Clark and Lois are so at ease with each other and taht relationship is such a joy to watch play out. It’s nice to hear from Marizee that the actors themselves enjoy each other’s compmany so much. Anyone episode that went after “Pandora’ and before the 2 hour event of Absolute Justice was bound to get lost in all the excitement. BUT–I did think it was solid and I really liked the podcast. Just wanted to let you know!

    Just for you Steve.

At first I didn’t enjoy Disciple as much as I thought I was going to but on reflection I have to agree with Kathleen it probably got lost for me between Pandora and the 2 hour event. I have to say though I think all in all it wasn’t bad at all, Justin was awesome but as an Ollie fan I would say that. :D I would have loved to have seen more of Steve Bacic who I think got lost amongst everything but I guess you can’t have everything.

Oh, I so enjoyed listening to Mairzee speak. She is so gracious, and passionate about Smallville and I LOVED how she loved hearing Steve say wonderful things about Smallville.

I also like to hear the directing insights on how to place actors and how to advise them on what to say/do. It is a whole different world that I know nothing about. I just get to sit back and enjoy the end product!

Thank you so much for this podcast, I loved it!
