  2. Daniel says:

Your not seeing things. That is Black Canary, Geoff Johns said in Kryptonsite’s interview with him, that she is the mother of the Smallville Black Canary, but they don’t mention it in the episode.

  3. Anthony says:

  6. Tom says:

WOW…That was great. I do wish, though, that they had the time and Alaina was available to atleast have a brief moment about mother, daughter canaries…

  7. Phill says:

  8. Phill says:

  9. Anthony Pa. says:

    Amazing.

That was one way to express my enjoyment in watching Absolute Justice. I’ll admit that I was a little worried that the episode(s) wouldn’t live up to the hype that it had been getting and I’m glad to say that it did and thensome.

I know very little to the history of the Justice Society but with Geoff Johns writing both episodes I knew that it would be as close to it as possible. Legion is evidence of that.

There are too many things to list but I’ll do my best. All the characters were different and the interaction between them. My favorites being the ones involving Clark/Dr. Fate, Oliver/Hawkman and Waller/Icicle. The times where both teams was impactful and showed how the old and new generation of heroes thought. Hopeuflly we’ll see them interacting with one another and if so, have more members of each team involved.

Touching upon the possibility of Lex Luthor beinga live was a nice move. Keeps the threat of that actually being the case alive. Would be nice to see Lex return and it being Michael Rosenbaum.

The ending was another thing I liked since it leaves the opening of Checkmate and/or Suicide Squad returning later on. Also, when Waller said that she wants to have the old/new heroes ready for the apocalypse, I thought it could be a possible foreshadowing of the actual Apocalypse character appearing in Smallville. That would surely be a good way to end the series.

As for my rating, I obviously going to give it a 5 out of a 5. There were some things here and there that bothered me but nothing that I wouldn’t complain.

  10. Andrew says:

I want to know of course what Waller meant when talking about the apocalypse… Zod and his plans or something else entirely??? And the Lex mention was great, and OMG MARTIAN MANHUNTER FOR THE WIN!!! So Good! Watching in the morning again, def. 5 Whispering Golden Helmets out of 5 for me and more points if I could give it so.

  11. Natasha says:

I think the Apocalypse character you’re talking about, Anthony P, is from Marvel.

  12. Randy says:

I’m imagining that this episode was a wet dream for the hardcore comic readers. I, on the other hand, was left scratching my head for most of the episode.

The main things I was excited to see was the return of Martian Manhunter’s powers (not to mention, finally seeing his true form), Dr. Fate’s “vision” of the cape, and the hint of possibly more Lex. Other than that, I felt like it was a lot of effort just to push the story forward just a few steps.

  13. Daniel (REDK39) says:

Awesome Episode!!! Loved everything !!intense , for sure, watching that again(Gotta love DVR) !! Hey I came after u guys talked about the Episode last night, r u guys going to Post the Live show here ?

  14. Marc says:

My OMG moments are those already mentioned here! Dr. Fate’s vision of the cape, seeing Martian Manhunter’s true form (as brief as it was), and the mention of Apokolips. Someone asked Geoff Johns on Twitter if the word “Apocalypse” was spelled as “Apokolips” in the script. His response was “With a capital A”. So interpret that as you will but I hope it’s foreshadowing for the future appearance of Darkseid! I know many people wanted to see CCH Pounder as Amanda Waller because she did the animated voice, but I thought Pam Grier did an excellent job!

I also loved the mention of “Super Friends” by Oliver and “Trouble Alert” by Chloe! Nice nod to the Saturday morning cartoon!

Not sure why there’s a debate out there as to whether Lex is alive. We all know he can’t be dead, that he still has to fulfill his destiny as Superman’s arch enemy. The question is if and when Michael Rosenbaum will reprise the role.

Daniel, do you know if the mother/daughter Black Canary storyline will be addressed in a future episode? I hope so and that its not swept under the rug.

There’s probably more I want to say, but I can’t think right now. My head is spinning (in a good way) from this movie! Like Daniel, I’m thankful for DVR. I look forward to watching it again and again.

  15. Jean says:

where is absolute justice on itunes??

  16. Jekim says:

It’s not up yet. I’m waiting for it too. I hope they don’t bump the price up more than two episodes usually cost because it was an “event”

  17. Anthony Pa. says:

You’re right, Natasha. I was actually referring to Darkseid (not sure if that’s spelled correctly). There have been talks of possibly bring him into the show.

Must admit that it would be a great final foe for Smallville to end upon. If that or Lex Luthor returning.

  18. Jean says:

yea i hope its just one episode. not 2 or anything like that but it probably will be because itunes likes to split the 2 parters :(

  19. please! says:

  22. Jekim says:

  23. Jekim says:

Sorry I was looking at HD. SD is up for sale. Looks like HD is season pass only?

  24. Kay says:

iTunes, what’s the deal? I wanted to buy the episode in HD.

  25. Superville8 says:

HD is now single episode too!!!

  26. Phill says:

the coming apocalypse= president luthor kills the flash, superman kills lex, superpowered arms race, floride renders teeth detectable to spy satalite.

in other words the question, at this point, is a must

  27. Woo says:

What can I say that has already been said, by all of you, my fellow SHoEligans. Just finished watching the episode on my PlayStation 3 and I loved every minute of it. Great episode, amazing dialogue, and great direction by both Winter and Welling and I’m going to pass this question on to you guys…? After what Geoff Johns did in the writing of Lois & Clark’s scenes. Do you think he’d be capable of writing a sequel of Superman Returns or a reboot of The Superman film franchise? I think he can.

Loved the Dr. Fate/Kal-El scenes, loved the call back to the vision in Season Three “Here-after” I know Derek and Steve I know you have been complaining that seen Season Six when J’onn J’onzz showed up we never got to see him in his true form… “Geekwood” that moment.

I have said it before several times on the website. In regards to Lex Luthor. I think it would be more likely to hear Rosenbaum voice on the series again before we actually see him.

Lastly, Geoff Johns if there is a Season Ten… Please do another episode!

  28. Woo says:

Apparently, The Zune Marketplace has spilt “Absolute Justice” into two parts so you XBOX 360 Microsoft Zune SHoEligans who want to watch it’s there. And for my fellow PlayStation 3 users on The PlayStation Network “Absolute Justice” is there now as well and actually is Number 2 on the most downloaded TV Shows on The PlayStation Network.

  29. Phill says:

woo, is the version on PSN in HD with 5.1? or did you aquire it “through other means”

  30. Woo says:

No, it’s only SD. Not HD. “Through Other means” Phill…. I’m sorry, Edna’s saying I shouldn’t answer such questions… Lol.

  31. Woo says:

But Phill if you do have an XBOX 360 or a Microsoft Zune is available in both HD and SD versions.

  32. Woo says:

For those Microsoft Zune/Microsoft Zune HD/XBOX 360 SHoEligans “Absolute Justice” has been spilt up into two parts exactly the same way it has been done on The PlayStation Network. For the Microsoft Zune/Microsoft Zune HD/XBOX 360 SHoEligans who want to download the episode on their XBOX 360’s or Microsoft Zunes the price is 240 Microsoft points for the HD (for part 1 and part 2 each) and 160 Microsoft points for the SD (for part 1 and part 2 each) hopes this helps someone.

  33. Woo says:

Good news, “Absolute Justice” (Part 1 and 2) are Number 1 and Number 2 on The Zune Marketplace.
