More Casting news for season 9

With all the news bubbling to the surface in the past week or so concerning Smallville, there is yet another bit of news from Natalie Abrams of TV Guide. It is being reported that “The Silver Banshee” has been cast as the villan in episode 16 “Escape” .
The Banshee is a villain from the DC universe who is described as the spirit of a Gaelic Heroine. She gets accidentally released from the underworld and happens upon a romantic Bed and Breakfast. It just so happens that this very same B&B is where Clark and Lois will be spending a getaway together. The Silver Banshee is being played by Odessa Rae (Leverage).
I am very curious about this casting, the Silver Banshee has a very specific look and I am looking forward to see how she will look after the “Smallville treatment”. Recently Smallville has done a fantastic job with getting the look of an established character right, so I am not concerned.
Do you know of this character? What feelings do you have about her coming to Smallville? Or is she new to you, what are your intitial impressions?

SMALLVILLE IS BACK THIS WEEK WITH A NEW EPISODE!!!

I think this is awesome news. I have been thinking they should bring her in for the last couple of years. She seems like an evil version of the Black Canary which I think would of been cool if she was in the episode too, but still really cool casting news. This season just keeps getting better and better. 1-29-2010 Can’t Wait.
I seem to remember this character from Action Comics. She interupted Clark while he was trying to tell Lois that he was Superman. I don’t know a ton about her but I remember her. I heard a few people say that she made an appearance in Superman/Batman Public Enemies as well. I think this is awesome. Smallville has been so great this season that I trust them with pretty much anything at this point. My guess is that this episode will be a nice mix of horror and action (which they did very well with in Rabid) and comedy and romance thrown in….my fave kind of episode. A little something for everyone that really allows the cast to shine. My fave episodes are those where Clark can kick ass, use his powers to save the day but still smile and romance his woman. Supposedly this character is going to show up at the Country Inn where Clark and Lois are staying. My hope is that he takes her away on a romantic weekend, comedy ensues, the Banshee shows up and all hell breaks loose, Clark fights the villian and kicks her ass and then he finds a way to sweep his girlfriend off her feet again at the end. Perfect episode for me.
It sounds awesome! What I don’t finish to understand it’s the spoiler about Oliver and Chloe, I just don’t like the idea of them together, Oliver needs to get with Dinah! And I have a feeling that they will kill Chloe in the finale, so I don’t want another sad Oliver. I hope they’re their just to help Clark and Lois with the Banshee.
pretty cool i have serious question for evreyone sinse Clarks major foes have faced him without the suit what dose the suit really mean now really. the suit is supose to be a symbol but if he has faced Braniac Zod Metalo Silver Banshe and countless others without the suit then when he puts it on it means nothing. iam excited for Martha and Perrys return though. season 9 is dc cameo season it seems like. oh well its sv so not surprised. i still will watch to finish Clarks journey int becomeing Superman or whatever he is supose to become.
Well recently he has been fighting with the Symbol while characters such as Brainiac already know the crest. Also these were more like preliminary battles and none of them have been in public for others to see. When he gets the suit they will still fear him even if he has fought with then in more civilian type clothing.
Im sure you guys are use to hearing it, but I have to say your podcast is the best I’ve heard. No matter what the subject is i always enjoy it. Now when it comes to Banshee, it could be a ok move or a terrible one. Since the character hasn’t been used in live action she can be treated well and given a good intro to smallville fans. As long as it doesn’t become a cheesy ghost story, it could flow well with this season’s darker tone. With the great actors, writers, and effects hopefully it will work out well.
