GUILTY!!
This might be the most anticipated episode for me in a LONG time. Well, Savior was but this is looking to be EPIC.
Wow im speechless. This episode may just be my favorite smallville episode ever! It was just wow! I’ll say it one more time W! O! W!
Watched love it. This is so far my favorite episode of the season
This episode was amazing. Probably the best episode this season. AWESOME!
Great episode. Such a rich mythology episode full of comic and movie references. I was totally geeking out.
This has made it into my top three SV episodes, just behind Rosetta.
Can’t wait to hear your podcast guys.
Oh, my Lanta. I’m just meer minutes after just watching this episode on The CW. Every cast member did a great job. Julian Sands to quote Jason Spencer, I wanted to do the “slow clap” after this episode to your performance sir. Loved his scenes with Chloe. I’m not afraid to say, this episode blew me away. I, like Damon am speechless. This is one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. Are we to assume that lock of Zod’s son’s hair was part of The DNA that made Doomsday/Davis? And I’m only assuming Faora was Zod’s second wife, if his first wife died twenty years before Krypton’s destruction. You really understand Zod’s pain in this episode and his despising of Jor-El and why he did what he did later on. Recuriting Brainaic and waiting to take over Krypton. Loved the call backs to “Relic” (which is another of my favorite episodes of the series.) The three stones… did not see that coming. The red pick up truck from The Pilot that Jor-El steps out of. Louis Febre again awesome job with the score. Al Septien & Turi Meyer awesome job writing this episode and Jeannot Szwarc (one of my faviorte directors on Smallville) really did well shooting this episode especially in the counsel room scene. Five out of five for this episode; cannot wait to hear what Mr. Russell and big Honkin’ think of this episode. Mole.
What a great episode. I know that this’ll be said by those who watched this episode but I want to give my thoughts about it.
Looks as though Steve was right in saying that the Kryptonians that came from the orb were clones. How they revealed this was nicely done without it being felt like an afterthought. Does make the importance of the orb more so than it already was. Speaking of the orb, where is it?
Don’t know if it was actually the case but saying that Jor-El and Zod were once friends and how that frienship deteriorated to the point that it did was somewhat of a throwback to how the Clark and Lex friendship went.
Chloe’s involvement in the episode was good and also perhaps set up for what’s to come in the season. When she said she was sorry for bugging Clark’s place it felt as though she was only doing so because she had no other choice. In other words, if she didn’t have to reveal it, she would’ve kept it hidden from her friend. Wonder if she’ll tell Clark about what she found from the tapes.
Having Oliver in the episode was something else I liked. In a roundabout way they touched on the whole Lois situation and at the same time strength the friendship that the two have with each other.
Simply put, the entire episode was one I enjoyed and has become one of my absolute favorites of the entire series. Without question I’m giving Kandor a 5 out of 5. Can’t wait to hear your guys’ opinion on the episode.
Anthony to go off from your parallel on your take on Clark and Lex’s friendship to Jor-El and Zod’s friendship really strengths the monologue Kal-El says at Jor-El’s grave about not saving Major Zod. Kal-El did try to redeem Lex in Seasons Five through Seven and looked what happened. Lionel was murdered and he can’t be with his first love Lana. He tried to save Davis in Season Eight and looked what happened, Davis murdered Jimmy. I think Kal-El has given up trying to save and or redeem monsters and villains and is focused now on stopping them. Some Smallville News for the Microsoft Zune Shoeligans every episode from Season Nine so far (with the exception of Kandor at this moment) is available for download on Zune Marketplace. And 21 episodes of Season Eight are available for download (for some reason they do not have Doomsday hopefully CW, or Microsoft, or Warner Bros. whoever will fix that) so you Microsoft Zune SHoEligans may want to check that out.
The awesome thing about Season 9 is at the end when Clark stood at his father’s grave and Zod saw him, for once now, I didn’t think “oh crap Clark, he saw you.” I thought, “that’s fine”, since the premiere of Season 6 – you have Clark has grown so much and he is more than a match for Zod.
Absolutely loved it, except for the retcon of the stones. If Jor-El only sent them to Earth 20-odd years before Clark was born, then how were they around when Isobel was alive, and how were they put inside relics inside of temples, thousands of years ago?
Well, Slushie Man maybe time moves differently on Krypton that it does on Earth. That’s the only explanation I can think of.
“Many thousands of your years will have passed…”
We don’t know how Jor-El got the crystals to Earth and we don’t know when that happened. We have to take into fact that they did have transport tech, time travel tech, and more…
It’s not something we can get picky about.
Well, spoken Mr. Spencer you are correct this episode was far too good to nit-pick about. Oh, by the way I submitted a request to Zune Marketplace to have your podcasts’ put on Zune Marketplace. I hope you don’t mind.
Another thing I really dug about the episode… Zod’s uniform. It’s the same as what we comic fans have been seeing in The World of New Krypton comic series. Pretty sweet…
The kryptonian costumes were definitely fantastic. Everything about this episode was just stellar. I love the kryptonian-based episodes like this one and Blue. Any time we can get some more of that backstory I am thrilled to see it. I kinda wish we had gotten to see more Clark/Jor-El interaction, but I suppose the lack of interaction is what makes it so profound. I really wish this could have been a two-part episode because I thought Julian Sands rocked as Jor-El and the story was very well done.
What a fantastic episode! Especially the ending, never saw it coming that Jor-El was having his own agenda. Really interesting!
Season 9 totally rocks!
The kyrptonian costumes looked really sweet, the entire interaction between Jor-El and Zod was intriguing, when Zod mentioned his dead son, I was really worried about Jor-El having done something and Clark being in reality Zod’s son. I was on the edge of my sit for the entire episode, it was so exciting to watch, now I really can’t wait to see the EPIC two-parter in January!
PS: I’m really curious how many of his famous “Guilty!” will Steve use in the Kandor podcast? 10, 20, 100? Lol :D
