Who’s Going To Die?

Kelly Souders recently gave an interview with TVguide.com, and this one will send the Smallville fans and message boards into a tizzy.

You will see more people than you can imagine die in the first 12 episodes. Luckily, it’s Smallville, so not all of them stick.

In a way that keeps us guessing, she goes on to say that these deaths will happen both in the present and in the future. Lois’ visions do play a role in the upcoming deaths and in what i believe is a very well crafted answer Kelly says:

I promise you all the people you love to watch, you will still be loving to watch in episode 18, 19, 20, 21.

What does this mean? Notice she doesn’t say ‘22′. Only time will tell, but let the speculations begin. We have been down this road in seasons past and while some deaths were predictable, others came as a true surprise. Who will it be?  Lets get the ball rolling and email your theories to mail@smallvillepodcast.com and discuss those theories with the rest of the SHoEligans at our forums.

Holy monkey spit! All the Chlois folks will hate me for this but i don’t care. It’s gotta be Chloe. She’s confirmed that she’s not going to be back if there is a 10th season.

  2. KEakaCK says:

    Holy Macaroni Batman…

Sounds like Kal-El is in need of an assistants in Metropolis/Smallville by a certain dark knight.

  3. cassi says:

My guess:Chloe, Dr. Hamilton, maybe Tess, Zod and a lot of Kryptonians. ;D I think Clark and Lois are pretty save but you never know.

No, seriously, I have no clue and don’t wanna speculate but if Chloe dies, it will be really heartbreaking to watch but I trust the writers to kill her in the most awesome way possible and that’s why I will love it, so it’s gonna be hearbreaking and awesome if it should happen.

  4. Dave in the Quiet corner says:

I’ll tell what’s not dying, this show. Bring on season 10!

  5. Julie says:

This whole death thing is getting old, at the point I don’t care who dies. This is probably going to be its last season, at least I am hoping.

  6. Andrew says:

    Season 10!!!

omg I don’t know…can’t be chloe or lois but who knows they could do an ollie death, tess isnt safe…nor chloe nemore… :(

  7. Jean says:

julia once again the negative comments, you wanna try lightening up a bit, if you dont like it dont watch just so you can bash it.

  8. Julie says:

Jean. I’m trying, but kind of hard when my favorite character is being sideline, like 5min a episode. I’m watching it because of Allison, ever since I was little I have been watching whatever Allison has been in.

  9. since1938 says:

Well, since my favorite character is the one the show is actually about, I’m guessing anyone who isn’t Clark or Lois is not safe. I’ll even bet that my favorite character, Clark, is one of the ones that dies since the spoiler says that it doesn’t stick.

  10. Andrew says:

Ya Julie…bad comments equals unhappy people, even though Chloe is sidelined, idk like before don’t watch…sry

  11. Andrew says:

And why why why why why did SHoE have to use that dreadful picture for the new story headline on the page — lanas body with lois’ head and season 6 altered clark omg its soooo bad but its smallville and i love it but its sooo bad!

  12. Brian says:

I know its a dreadful picture, but it’s hard to find a Season 9 cast photo on the fly.

Lots of good comments here, I think that’s what this kind of piece is supposed to do. It’s a TV drama, people are expected to die at some point.

Half the fun is discussing who we think it will be and why. Keep up the good work SHoe-ligans.

  13. Woo says:

Kelly Sounders you sultry vixen… Leaving all of us anxious with excitement about who is going to pass away. Notice she says someone may pass away but it may not be a Lionel, Jonathan, or Jimmy type death. I despise to say this because I love Chloe and Allison Mack but it wouldn’t be far off in saying Chloe might pass away this season. If Lois’ visions of Chloe face first on asphalt weren’t enough of a harbinger. Allison Mack said this is her last season. But who knows? I didn’t see Jimmy dying in the eighth season either.

  14. Jean says:

@julie, hahahahahaha your kdding right, you’ve been watching everything allisons been in since she was little? haha thats smallville and like 3 independent movies. Dont lie. i hate liars. And ever since you were little? really? your gonna go with that. shes been famous 9 years either your 15 and overdramatic or lieing

  15. Julie says:

I am not a lier. Allison as been on TV since she was little. Movie list.

  16. Mary says:

Honestly, I’m just really intrigued by this whole season. I don’t even think I’m going to try and speculate about these comments about the deaths. I just want to enjoy the ride. I really think Brian and Kelly have created a very interesting and dramatic arc and I’m psyched to see it play out. I will say that I have this nagging feeling that something bad is going to happen to Clark in the future before Lois goes back. In fact, I am wondering if we are finally going to get the famous “Death of Superman” scene between the “Blur” and Lois in the future where he dies beaten and bloody in her arms. I feel like Smallville needs to do their unique version of that scene at some point. It’s got to be one of the most famous scenes from all of the Superman comics. Yes, it’s a sad scene but you don’t get more “legendary” than that.

As for Chloe…I have no idea what will happen to her. I used to really like her character but it’s been harder and harder for me to like her over the last 2 years or so. Perhaps that is the producer’s intent…I’m not really sure to be honest. I don’t like how condesending she’s been to Clark and Lois. I really didn’t like that she put Lois’ safety in jeopardy during Roulette. I don’t like that she talks to Clark like he’s a child. I really want to see a good ending for this character. I used to like her….I don’t really anymore. But I’m not sure I actually want her to die. What I’d like is to see her redeemed and go off to have a great future….a future that includes a friendship with Clark and a close family relationship with Lois. Will I get that? I have no clue. I guess time will tell.

  17. REDK39 says:

I really Hope its not Chloe although I know they talk about her not being in season 10 . I hope they don’t kill her off , or might be end game for me , tonights ep rocked thought it would b filler kinda definitely not.

  18. Derek says:

Stepping in, I’m not going to delete comments as it is, but Jean, stop harassing Julie. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, don’t bash them for it when they’re not hurting you. Play nice.

  19. RnD says:

Well, Welling and Durance are both signed for season 10, so that rules them out.

The deaths probably won’t stick any way. They probably just happen in that future that Lois keeps dreaming about.

  20. Andrew says:

Agreed with Derek, but thats too funny, this argument was making me laugh

  21. Jean says:

andrew, whos side are you on jw.
ok julie all these, there small roles most of them one shot guest appearances your not gonna tell me that you saw the “little girl” in police academy 6 and said omg shes amazing and followed her into every single project she did especially if its from when you were “little”. ok i just read what derek said and hes right you are entitled to your opinion, and this will be my last rebuttal i will ignore your comments from here on out i am sorry for any previous rudeness. truce? :D

  22. Julie says:

I’m find, truce Jean, I did actually start from her very first thing she did. I started when she did “A Mother’s Revenge”, when she was little and she did very good in it, and I just keep track, from there. Nothing big, I really started liking her in Opposite Sex, and from there.

  23. Julie says:

sorry I meant didn’t not did.

Anyways having rethink this I think Tess or Chloe.

  24. Julie says:

Yeah, Derek could you deleted all my comments just from whos doing to die

  25. jean says:

Oh ok I’m sorry I doubted you maybe I’ll check those out, anything else you’d recomend?

  26. Delbs says:

hahaha that really is a horrible picture tho! but like u said on the fly :)

  27. Paul says:

Obvious choice is Chloe, since this is AM’s last season… which makes me suspect ‘Chloe Sullivan does not die!’ I’m guessing the “death” is not really death, it’s one-possible-future death or some such. Or maybe in episode 22 they’ll kill off Zod. He’s only a clone, after all!

I’ve been watching since S1, and AM’s Chloe is a big reason why. But I’ll watch the show with or without her, and I’m eagerly anticipating a S10.

  28. Jean says:

i love your idea paul i hope her death is only a future thing, and im not sure i think her contract just isnt renewed, i think she still has the option at least i hope so
