SHoE AAC: Episode 131 – “Rabid”
Zombies run amok and sparks fly on the latest episode of Smallville, and Steve brings in friend and host of the Vortex Podcast, Dave Jones to follow all the twists and turns in the latest episode of the current season. Plus lots of news including a discussion of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, some tales of 1980’s ABC Sunday Night Movies and more on your home for audible Smallville and Superman news, Starkville’s House of El.

Getting a new SHoE podcast is almost as important as getting a new Smallville episode.
Thanks for the episode. It was a nice surprise before I went to work. Made my Tuesday a little more tolerable.
Another great listen. Getting your take and views on the episodes are a real treat. Without fail, after listening to your podcast, I go back and rewatch the episode to pick up the things that you bring out that I missed the first time around.
Kudos to Dave for thinking of the Doomsday virus. Never even crossed my mind but if it SV’s nod to that, once again awesomeness.
I, like you and your guests Steve, let out a big groan when Clark pulled out the picture of Lana; but I do like what they were conveying in that scene – closure. Especially when you parallel it with Oliver still carrying around Lois’ picture in his wallet and him, in his downward spiraling mind, wanting to return to his days with Lois.
The bit about Clark talking to Lana’s picture or talking to Lana’s parents’ headstones was very funny.
Again, great job and anxiously awaiting next week’s episode and podcast.
P.S. The episode where Lois and Oliver attend the costume ball, Lana and Lex get it on and Clark is sitting up in the loft bouncing the ball off the wall is Sneeze.
Loved the WWE Raw tangent! I saw that ep too and was astounded at Macaulay Culkin’s appearance! They must have a ball planning those scenes!
Great podcast as usual, always a pleasure to listen to as you ARE talking about my favourite show!
As an aside, the episode where Lois and Oliver attend the costume ball, Lana and Lex get it on and Clark bounces his ball in the loft, is actually Wither! The All American Rejects appear in that ep too!
(Ollie hitting the can tab is also in wither! : P)
I’m going back for a Rabid rewatch also!
Thanks SHoE!
Hahaha! “Don’t send fan art.”- Steve
Actually the episode with the Costume ball is in WITHER not Sneeze. :)
Steve, great podcast. Really appreciated all of your comments. I understand what you are saying about Chloe. I think there is a great arc to come for her and I really expect that we are going to see more of her “agenda” in the comings weeks. That being said, I’m a huge fan of both Lois AND Chloe and there were plenty of times over the last 5 years where I had to suffer through Lois having nothing to do and only being in 5 minutes. This is the first time in YEARS that Chloe has had reduced screentime and I tend to think that it’s only fair that Lois is finally getting a chance to be front and center. I’m SURE that Chloe will be back on track within the next few episodes. I don’t mind her takinga back seat every now and then if it means I get to finally see Lois get her due. It’s just one person’s opinion though. Great podcast!
Thank you guys for correcting me. My bad.
Boy I really need to brush up on my SV episodes.
Allison Mack deserves better. I hope this is her last year, and doesn’t come back. I love to watch another show with her in it.
CJ, you seem to be upset about something…
First I am more of a Allison fan then Chloe one.
1. Allison Mack never being on a Smallville DVD cover. She deserves to be on one. Now I believe its to late, seeing this is more of a Clark & Lois show now.
2. Getting sidelined, don’t think its going to get any better.
3. Chloe always get geeky guy’s. I hated Chlimmy. Nothing against AA.
CJ…what do you have against geeky guys? I thought Jimmy was a great guy. Very cute and I actually didn’t think he was a geek at all.
CJ, Allison is a great actress whom I’m sure will have plenty of success after Smallville. From listening to her interviews, I think she has really enjoyed her time on the show. She seems to have made some great friendships and heck…she’s had a steady gig on a pretty popular TV show for going on 9 years. Most actors never get that kind of break. She seems to be a down to earth girl and I’m sure she’s been well paid for her efforts. (I would imagine that the only actor on that show who makes more than her is Welling.)
I also love Allison which is why I hope it’s NOT Her last year and I’d love for her to come back. I’m all about the Lois AND Chloe love. I don’t think it has to be one or the other on the show. Lois was pushed to the background for a long time on this show and she is finally getting some meaty storylines. So happy for Erica! I also love Chloe and I really believe we are going to see some more great storylines for her in the future. In fact, I hope we see more of Lois and CHloe teamed up together!! They are both great.
As for the DVD covers, you’ll have to take that up with Warner Brothers. I do’nt think the Powers that Be at Smallville really have anything to do with that. They choose who to put on the cover based on what they think will sell. It’s not meant as a slight against Allison at all. My guess is that they think of her as more of a “sidekick” and that’s why she wasn’t on the cover. But who really cares who is on the cover? It doesn’t change my enjoyment of the show either way.
Kate, I didn’t say I was against geeky guy’s. Since Jimmy is gone. I would like to see her with someone like Bart, or Oliver. After she done with all her mourning.
Awesome episode!
Err….not with Bart or Ollie…please — Great episode, love Dave on it with Steve, great convos’ have him or Joe back more often!
Apple iPod and Microsoft Zune SHoEligans rejoice Big Honkin’ returned and once again delivered an awesome episode of SHoE. Must say Dave Jones did an awesome job, he was funny and he brought up a good point with the whole Doomsday virus “28 Days Later” take on the Zombies, I never thought of that and I think that’s what that was in the episode. A bit of information Steve didn’t say in the podcast, maybe he didn’t know about it. Dave Jones podcast can’t not just be found on Apple iTunes, but it can also be found on Microsoft Zune Marketplace as well I looked on Zune.net personally. So if you Microsoft Zune SHoeligans are interested it’s there. I have to say Steve you have an eye for talent for these podcast guest co-hosts because they were several times I was listening to this episode on my iPod Classic. (I don’t have a Microsoft Zune any longer because I have an iMac, but it still holds a special place in my heart because it was my first MP3 Player I ever had and the MP3 Player that I listened to my first podcast episode which by the way was SHoE.) While listening to this episode on my iPod Classic, I was busting out with laughter, I almost choked on my Coca-Cola Classic several times because the jokes during this episode caught me so off guard. Steve like Derek said in the “Savior” episode “You are one funny mofo.” Mister Jones you are not far behind Steve, you are extremely funny as well. Love the podcast guys. Mole.
Great podcast guys! You have to watch 28 days later Steve, it’s so awesome!!!! The score is just AMAZING!
I don’t worry about Chloe, I think they writers are taking their time developing her storyline, it’s just the third episode.
Once again awesome podcast guys :)
Will we be hearing an echo podcast soon? :D
