Casting Call For “Society”
There has been a casting call for Smallville episode 9×11 or 9×12 “Society”. The description itself does not make it easy to figure out who it is, take a look after the jump
[NEW SEXY SUPERHERO] Male – 37 – 48 yr. old. All ethnicities. He is the most handsome and sexy of ALL the D.C Superheros. Actor must have a fantastic physique. GUEST STAR. Dates are approximately 10-26 thru 11-3-09 (source: Spoiler TV)
I have my own ideas on the possibilities of who this could be and I am hoping to see at least a few more casting calls for this episode. The Justice Society of America has quite a few members who laid the groundwork for some of the most popular hero’s known today.
John Wesley-Shipp is no stranger to the DC Universe, once playing the title character on CBS’s short-lived live action series “The Flash”. I think it would be great to see him play the role of Jay Garrick. (The first Flash) However I do not think this call is for Jay. I believe it to be for Carter Hall, better known as Hawkman. Seeing a live action Hawkman would be awesome!
Mark Valley is another actor who I would love to see fill a role like this. He has been on a few ABC shows in the past, I remember him for his role on “Boston Legal”.
I would love to see what all the SHoE-ligans think about who this role is for and who would be some actors you would like to see fill the part. What other members of the Justice Society of America would you like to see?

Hawkman would be great, especially since he’s been known to be grumpy and I think Geoff mentioned that the JSA would come in and be kind of pissy with the new set of heroes. (And I’d love to see my man Rick Hearst playing Hawkman, just because he’s a great actor, a great guy and deserves a big time role like this.)

I want JWS and I wonder, because there is only one call if they got 2 past superheroes in the other roles. I can’t believe that CC though, it isn’t even a casting call its a lonely hearts ad. We all know that the sexiest superhero ever is Dick Grayson.
If you Microsoft Zune or Apple iPod Shoeligans recall on Episode 125 where Michael Bailey had his predictions on who would make a great Justice Society I agree with him on who should be in. Jay Garrick (The original Flash), Carter Hall (Hawkman), Alan Scott (The Green Lantern, I’m pretty sure he was the original Green Lantern, someone correct me if I’m incorrect.) And last but not least Wildcat. I loved Michael Bailey’s idea from Episode 125 of having Jon Wesley-Shipp play Wildcat because he can for sure play a believable Wildcat, he sure looks the part. I trust Geoff Johns though after seeing Legion in the eighth season. I was expecting Legion to be a lot more “campy” and “cheesy” and it was but not in a an awful way. Some suggestions on directors for Society… James Marshall, Glen Winter, (who also directed Legion) and my personal favorite director on Smallville Jeannot Szwarc. You know what I wouldn’t mind it if Welling directed this one. I think he would do a terrific job.
I would love to see Michael Holt (Mr. Terrific II) be one of the members, but he’s not “old” enough, but I think seeing him interact with Chloe would be interesting. But I do think that at least Wildcat and maybe Hawkman will be among the JSAers paying a visit.
