SHoE MP3: Episode 127 – Doomsday Redux
It’s one week til season nine, and SHoE delivers. Host of the 10th Wonder, Joe Hummrich, joins Steve Glosson for the latest in Smallville and Superman headlines, plus a full retrospect of the last eight years of Smallville as Joe details his two month journey of watching every single episode of Smallville and listening to the entire SHoE catalog. A fun, informative episode and if this doesn’t get you pumped for September 25th, check your pulse.
You guys did a kickbutt job on this episode. (If you are new to SHoE and a fan of Smallville or Superman and have either an Apple iPod or a Microsoft Zune and you are still deciding on whether or not to Subscribe to this podcast, this is the perfect episode for new listeners to join in and so Zune and iPod owners come on in) You have such a great chemistry. Joe Hemmerich and Steve made me for the first time since Derek’s departure feel comfortable with a new team on SHoE with that being said I believe Michael Bailey and Steve do a great job, but with Bailey not being able to watch week to week. This team feels right to carry on with what Derek, Tucker, Will, and Houston (who is that man again?) Now, I love Derek and he will always be Starkville House of El in my opinion but I will repeat this once more Hemmerich and Glosson this team, feels like the best team to succeed Russell and Glosson. I will say on a personal note I busted out laughing several times during this episode. Loved the score and “Save Me” in the background. This was probably the best non ShoE Smallville review episode next to Fortress of Baileytude. Hemmerich seriously think about joining Big Honkin’ for SHoE this season. Mole.
This was a great episode that this turned out to be. The pairing of Steve and Joe was a good mixture and the two of them really played off one another. The show does feel better when there’s more than one person as it allows different input and viewpoints on stuff. It was one of the things that made the Derek & Steve team so great.
You were right, listening to the episode made me pumped for the 9th season to get here. Currently I’m watching all the seasons and unfortunately I won’t be able to finish before the newest one premiers. Still, from what I’ve read, this season sounds like it’ll be different from previous seasons but I’ll definitely be watching to see how everything turns out.
Hey Derek, you repeat yourself a lot, I do long reply’s. That’s fair I think. Joe seriously the SHoE listeners want you on more SHoE podcasts it seems like you need to humor them or I’ll inform Television Without Pity, that you think Chloe will die in the series finale. No, I wouldn’t do that to you. Last statement I want to make to the SHoEniverse if that hasn’t be coined yet, I want to take credit for that.
