Making the Rounds: Post Comic-Con
Hey all! Hope everyone returned safe and sound from their time in San Diego and if you didn’t make it this year, don’t fret. SHoE has all the news ready to deliver and we’ll be getting to it soon with a couple of new episodes – some audio from the panel – and some exclusive interviews Derek did with the cast after the Smallville panel. In the meantime, be sure to check out Craig’s interviews from the junket over at www.kryptonsite.com
One thing we HAVE to address right now is the suit you’ve all been hearing about from the season nine footage that premiered Sunday. Hopefully Warner Bros will be releasing that footage but until that time we will not be linking to any bootlegs around the internet – we repect the decision of WB that what was shown was for Comic Con attendees, for now. A picture is making it’s way across the big sites as we speak, and we feel the need to interject. This photo IS A FAKE.
It’s since been said that this was indeed made by a fan for a representation of the suit, and posted on a few sites as ‘fanmade’ – everything we saw said this was ‘official’ and the only reason we’re posting this is to make people aware that some fabrications are out there, and to point you to right from wrong.
I will bet money in the coming days one of the first official photos from 9×01 – ‘Savior’ will be Clark in the suit – but this ain’t it. I find it even funnier that some of the sites posting this are written by people who were actually at the panel on Sunday, saw the thing with their own eyes, and are still spreading this around. When a real picture becomes available, you’ll find it here. Until then, don’t even bother looking at the image to the left. It’s not nearly as cool as what I saw Clark kicking ass in this past weekend.

As I said to you on twitter, I didn’t believe it was real, but part of me was eceptical, to be fair you couldn’t rule out its veracity because the poor Photoshop, it’s the CW art department after all the Creators of Erica Kreuk. Since its fake we shouldn’t get that angry or give that much importance it’s not official, be pissed when it is and hell I expect something worst made by the CW Art Department monkeys
So much for integrity, I do believe the fake photo is attached to his article…
*goes to right the wrong done to the good name of photoshop manipulation by doing a freaking awesome manip….or hopefully a freaking awesome manip*
The funny part or the sad part of this is that some sites who had their men/women out there at Comic Con and who reported about it posted it as official only because a fan said the picture he has is real.
Debsa I attached the fake photo to the article so people would know to what I am referring, thank you.
plus why would they make the costume purple. I have also seen one popular shot of a close up of Clark and Darkseid in the background.
I actually know what shot they used for that. It’s Neo from the matrix.
Of course it is Allie. Further more you can see the pixellation of the shield on the chest. Even Suzanne Gomez is on Twitter calling it a fake and people are still passing it around. Travesty.
Thanks Derek, excited that there are mulitple episodes coming down the pipeline, good update and I’ve been going through every old episode in the past 4 days at work with 11 hour days. New ones are great and if it works I’ll have them when I finish ur others.
Thanks Derek! I’m glad you all had a great time – and I look forward to the interviews. I can’t wait for the new season to begin, and I’m trying very hard to be somewhat spoiler free for the season! I usually cave around episode 3 or 4 – I’m so weak!
it looks cool for a fan made pic. the new suit looks cool from the trailer. i hope they bring back Laura Vandervoort aka Kara for the second half of season 9 or season 10. i miss Kara on sv idk how Clark is gonna defeat Zod Ursa Non and those two other Kryptonian chicks.
Thanks for the update Guys it’s good to know that we as fans can trust someone out there who has the “right stuff”.
Hmm. It’s fan art. No more, no less. In the age of Photoshopped imagery (official or not), whether something is “real” or not is becoming quite the dubious distinction. Okay, so this didn’t come from Warner Bros. On the other hand, some fan out there obviously worked rather hard on this to make it look like the suit from the trailer. Obviously, it isn’t “real” or as professional-looking as an actual publicity still would be, but since when did we start poo-pooing creativity? No harm’s been done. That said…I cannot *wait* for the real deal!!
So I take it that the Metropolis movie is out of the question?
Daniel I’m arguing with the fact this has been passed around as official, not negating some fan’s obvious hard work. I think that’s pretty obvious. Fanart is fine but not when major news sites are saying it’s the real deal – it angers Warner Bros and the CW when things like that happen, we’re here to show what separates fact from fiction.
I agree and don’t see why people are arguing you on why this is even a problem. Don’t justify yourself Derek, the article says it all on it’s own.
I was specifically referencing the part of the article that criticized specific aspects of the image (”first of all, the suit isn’t purple, it’s black,” “what the heck is that skyline? All wrong”). That section has apparently now been excised. As the article is written now, I agree with it 100%.
Derek
I just wanted to say that is was great to meet you at Comic Con. What a great Smallville panel. It was well worth the 3K plus miles we drove to get there. Glad to hear you made it home safe.
