SHoE: The Doomsday Interviews – Cassidy Freeman
The second in our series of Doomsday interview is Cassidy Freeman. One of the newest starts on the show, Cassidy discusses how she got the role of Tess Mercer, what this season has meant for her and her character, the events of Doomsday, and some personal hopes on what’s to come.
How ironic that, as the big “baddie” in the series right now, Cassidy’s the nicest and most down to Earth actress I’ve heard interviewed in a long, long time. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Great job as always!
Great interview with Cassidy Freeman, not only beautiful, but as funny as Rosenbaum. I think Derek was right in this interview when he said, the beginning of Season Nine was not going to wrap up the previous season like in years’ past. This cliffhanger’s not going to be cleared up in just two episodes, which is fine with me because that kind of annoyed me especially in Season Five going into Season Six. This is just a theory I have, Tess may be Lara’s vessel like Lionel was for Jor-El. I hope they go that route anyway.
I agree with both of you. Cassidy Freeman is quite a beautiful person. This was a great interview. I am so glad that she is coming back next season. Thanks Derek!

A really good seaon finale. I agree with Cassidy, wanting the fight between Clark and Doomsday to be longer, but overall a nice way to end a very solid season.
I don’ know why but hearing Cassidy Freeman saying “Yeeeahhh! Shaggin Wagon!” makes me laugh.

Man, this interview just confirms and re-emphasizes my thoughts since seeing her at Comic-Con. Cassidy Freeman is just plain awesome. She, as someone else put it, IS one of the most down-to-earth, sincere actresses I’ve seen/heard. She seems genuinely interested in the show, and she seemed genuinely interested in particpating in an interview with a total stranger, and about (typically referred to as) “geek material” (i.e., comics). With some interviews, you get the impression that the interviewee is a little less than interested in the conversation, and is just doing it to appease fans. But Cassidy came across like she was talking with a long-time friend. This interview reminded me of the one with Phil Morris – awesome.
Kudos, Derek, on such a fantastic interview; and kudos to Cassidy for being so awesome and forthcoming about her thoughts, opinions, etc. I am now a committed long-term new fan. Best of luck to her in everything! SHoE FTW.
