She is making these mistakes, first by trying to kill Davis, then by interpreting the paintings wrong, then by telling Davis Clark is the other Kryptonian. She is flawed as well as flawing, and I think it gives more to her character. She is trying so hard to be "good" for lack of better words but its not working, she's not a true villain..
