It's not really even out of step with the character as a whole. In the "Man of Steel" mini-series she ran her car off the pier in an attempt to "trick" Superman into an interview. And like that example I'm sort of hoping "Stiletto" ends the same way with Clark Kent actually being the one to land the exclusive. The potential for humor there would be considerable as well as the rise in the animosity Lois feels for Clark.
