Word is this will be released via Xbox 360 very soon for all to see! And one of the biggest things at all, Clark Kent, taking a seat at his new desk at the Daily Planet!
- No tights-No flights in season 8? Darren Swimmer: “Well, we’ll be sticking to the no tights…”
- Clark will be embracing his destiny more than ever. Double-identity is the major-theme of the season.
- Green Arrow’s origin will be delved into deeply this season, GA fans won’t be disappointed.
- Sam Witwer is describing his character of Davis Bloome aka Doomsday. Sounds very interesting.
- Cassidy Freeman discusses Tess Mercer, Lex’s new girl at Luthorcorp, and Clark Kent’s new boss at the Daily Planet.
- Clark is going to seek his destiny as Superman, taking on the Daily Planet as a career and saving people wherever needed.
- Questions to Justin about the Black Canary/Green Arrow relationship and if that will take place this season with Alaina Huffman. Allison Mack: “It would be cool since they (Justin & Alaina) have the same hair.”
- “There will be many women in Oliver’s life this year.” Justin’s wife screamed from the audience.
- Chloe will be utilizing the powers she’s been given while developing a few new attributes this season.
- Will Michael Rosenbaum be returning this season? “The door is completely open, you haven’t heard the last of Lex Luthor and should he decide to come back, the door is open” - Brian Peterson
- Guy in an incredible Green Arrow costume just got pulled up on stage to show it off to the audience, bow included which Justin took from him to show off.
- Will we see more of the Justice League? “JL fans won’t be disappointed by episode 8×01 - while Clark works at the Daily Planet, the JL will be bubbling to the surface this morning now with Justin being a regular cast member.”
- GEOFF JOHNS WILL BE WRITING AN EPISODE OF SMALLVILLE THIS SEASON!
- SPOILER ALERT: GEOFF JOHNS WILL BE WRITING “LEGION” THIS SEASON, INTRODUCING THE LEGION OF SUPERHEROES!!!
- What would be your ideal Smallville/other TV show crossover? Brian: Supernatural; Kelly: Heroes & BSG; Cassidy: American Idol or SYTYCD; Sam: Original Knight Rider; Allison: Heroes & Mad Men; Justin: West Wing (”Don’t worry ‘prez, we got this!); Darren: The Office (”Dwight Schrute @ the Daily Planet!?”); Todd: Supernatural. Jeph: Weeds.
- Is the original ending vision of the series still the same? “We hope that doesn’t happen for a long, long time, but when it does happen, fans won’t be disappointed…” - Todd Slavkin
- Any possibility of Wonder Woman this season? No, but there will be a lot more done with the DC Mythology and a few new characters to be introduced.
- my phone just went off in the Smallville panel, great. way to go Derek.
- How should Chloe show up in the DC Universe? “Chloe is the ultimate sidekick, Clark’s rock and foundation; keeping that Girl Friday position in the comics would be really neat if that legend could live on.” - Allison Mack
- What happened to the footage of Lex finding the Fortress in the snow suit? ‘That was shot for 7×15 for the writer’s strike but it didn’t fit in 7×20, it was better used for promotion. Let’s hope it’s on the DVD.” - Todd Slavkin
- Will Sam Jones III return this season? “Always a possibilty, we’re only breaking episode 5 right now…22 full episodes this season!” - Kelly Souders
- What would have transpired if the strike hadn’t ended? Pretty much would have been the same, just shorter.
- Jeph Loeb’s phone just did that horrible microphone interference over the speakers. Sam Witwer tried to make it into a rap.
- “Lex was an awesome villain, but Lex couldn’t kill Superman. Who can go toe to toe with Superman and leave Metropolis in ruins? Only Doomsday.” - Darren Swimmer
Will Allison direct an episode this season? “We’re talking. I’d love the opportunity but nothing is official” - Allison Mack
“Don’t rule out a Smallville spin-off - The DC Universe is vast, that’s all we can say.” - Todd Slavkin
Lots of fan interaction with the panel; best one I’ve been to the whole last few days. Cassidy Freeman is amazing.
Huge standing ovation for the entire cast and crew of Smallville! They’re showing the trailer again!

Not that I’m not totally happy about all the info a panel, but I’m a huge Erica Durance fan and there is a huge Lois deficit regarding questions. Where there any questions about Lois at all?

“Chloe is the ultimate sidekick, Clark’s rock and foundation; keeping that Girl Friday position in the comics would be really neat if that legend could live on.” - Allison Mack
If I were a little girl and I had Chloe Sullivan or Lois Lane to chose from as a role model, I’d chose Chloe. Chloe is more important than Lois, the way SV canon unfolds. She’s not a sidekick. With her advancing powers, she’s a becoming a match for Clark. She can do things he can’t.
This makes me think more and more that the end will be Chlark.

Thanks a lot guys! I’ll be looking for that trailer on my Xbox 360…

Yes…Chloe wins hands down at the ultimate role model. I think they let in Lois too soon….she’s no match for Chloe.
I think the only way to get Chlark, though, is some “what if” dream sequence episode, as it really doesn’t fit into where the story has to lead, unfortunately.
So I am destined to be disappointed.
Thanks for the panel info!!! Can’t wait for next podcast!

I was sitting behind you and wanted to say I think your site is great. :-) I actually had never seen an episode of Smallville and am currently watching the first season DVDs, due to this awesome panel.

This was the best panel I was at during the Comic Con. While it was cool to see the next episode of Heroes what I really wanted was a little interaction from the cast and crew. They barely had enough time for questions and the folks that got up to ask something were all really dumb.
This gave us a chance to see some footage but also get to find out more about the folks on the show. Excellent! I can’t wait for the next episode of SHoE to hear Derek and Steve talk about this some more.
