TV Guide Sums Up Season 7
As we get closer & closer to the premiere of season 7, TV Guide gives us a nice little preview of what’s to come in the upcoming season.
Some spoilers lie ahead:
Smallville
Premiere: Thursday, September 27, 8 pm, CW
Where we left off: The last Phantom Zone escapee possessed Clark (Tom Welling), turned into a “Bizarro” clone and knocked Clark out. Lana (Kristin Kreuk) was apparently killed in a car explosion, and her murder was pinned on estranged husband Lex (Michael Rosenbaum). Lois (Eric Durance) was stabbed trying to expose Lex’s Project Ares. Chloe (Allison Mack) found Lois and shed a kryptonite-feuled tear that brought her back to life — only to lead to Chloe’s own demise.
What’s next: Clark’s Kryptonian cousin Kara (Laura Vandervoort) joins the show this year. This “Supergirl” will provide a link to Clark’s alien heritage, but she’ll also be a handful. We’ll learn that there wasn’t much brotherly love between their fathers. As for Lana Lang, executive producer Al Gough says we’ll have to “wait and see” if she’s really a goner, but teases that “if she is back from the dead, will she be the same sweet girl we’ve known for six seasons?” What’s more, Kara will take a romantic interest in Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore), and Lois gets more than a 401k when she joins the “Daily Planet” staff. Smallville continues to mine comic book and Superman history by casting Lois & Clark star Dean Cain and Helen Slater, from the campy 1984 Supergirl movie, in guest roles.
