UPDATED: SHoE Exclusive: Kevin Sorbo Interview
I had a lot of fun at Dragon*Con in Atlanta this weekend and am looking forward to next year, you can see our video report which we’ll be posting soon but in the meantime here is an exclusive SHoE interview where I sat down with Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) and discussed the rumors surrounding him appearing on Smallville, later this season.
SHoE: What can you tell us about you appearing on Smallville?
Sorbo: Nothing official, only that if I am available towards the end of the year, they want me for a 3-4 episode arc.
SHoE: Any news on what character they are wanting you for?
Sorbo: No word but I hear it is something pivotal.
SHoE: Is it something you’re interested in?
Sorbo: Definetly, it’s one of those things I never really have believe on until I’m on the plane but I’d love to do it.
SHoE: And being back in Vancouver?
Sorbo: Even for a few weeks, that’d be great.
SHoE: Maybe a dual stunt-casting with you and Bruce Campbell as the Brothers El?
Sorbo: That’d be great wouldn’t it? Bruce is a great guy - I hope we get to work together again soon.
SHoE: Are you a big Superman fan?
Sorbo: I don’t see how anyone couldn’t be, I don’t know if it’s because of me being up for the role back during Lois & Clark or what that they’re wanting me for Smallville.
SHoE: Well you’ve had a huge impact in the sci-fi television universe over the past 12 years, what with Hercules and Andromeda; stunt casting is the correct turn of phrase for it.
Sorbo: Well thank you, I hope they have me, I’d love to do it.

I have 2 theories on this: Since Brainiac is rumored to be returning, could he be the new Vessel for ZOd? (it’s possible that was what Brainiac’s mission has always been: to free Zod, in Smallville anyway) Or perhaps zome other Zoner Braniac is releasing from the Phantom Zone? Or Brainiac’s new body? (So many theories on this one . . . )
Or could he be a new Justice Leaguer Green Arrow is bringing to town? (Any ideas?)

true, he has been pretty pivotal in the science fiction world over the years. one of my favorites truth be told. I for one love this new season of smallville & how they’re arching more towards the lore of it than the drama the CW wants, this isn’t the O.C or Gilmore Girls, it’s supposed to be superman. so i like the way season 8 has turned out so far. but back to sorbo, i hope they give him a role that is actually meaningful to the series & evocative of the lore in the comics!
A Justice Leaguer would be amazing to see. Hopefully after contracts are up n such, people will sign up for more smallville. you never know though, this could be the last season of smallville and if it is, it should mean something & not be a disappointment to the fans. go out with a bang! =) sorry kevin i really went off on a tangent. to sum this up: give sorbo a great role! something we can watch over and over again! focusing heavily on LORE =)
