One Year Ago…

This week last year, the Aquaman pilot, ‘Mercy Reef’ hit iTunes as the number one video download for several weeks, find out what else was going on around this time last year in the ‘Smallville’ universe after the jump.

It was about July 17th, 2006 – and TV Guide broke the news that Justin Hartley, the actor chosen to play Arthur Curry for Al & Miles new Aquaman project, would now be wearing a different pair of tights in Smallville, Kansas, bringing the iconic role of Oliver Queen (aka The Green Arrow) to life.

Why the walk down memory lane you might ask? Well for a couple of reasons:

  • To Remind Us Where We’ve Been: We get a lot of emails here at SHoE regarding the status on promo images or a teaser trailer for the upcoming season. While we do pride ourselves in trying to be ahead of the game in bringing you the late breaking news, we can’t post something that doesn’t exsist for the public yet (as much as we’d love to!) So rest assured as soon as it’s in our possession, we’ll put it in yours.
  • To Keep You From Getting Discouraged: We’re less than 2 months away from the season 7 premiere, and it was still the first week in August before we saw a promotional photo of Aaron Ashmore as Jimmy Olsen, so considering we’ve already seen 3 cast images of Laura Vandervoort as Kara; I think the crew is doing pretty good to whet our appetite. It was still around mid-August before we even saw a trailer for season 6 last summer (which still gets me excited a year later).

So, all that to say – don’t give up faith and get discouraged just because there haven’t been any promo pics for episode 7×01 or video from the first few episodes (other than what was shown at Comic Con this past weekend) – this has been one of the most heavily guarded premieres for Smallville and it’s sure to not be a dissapointment when September 27th rolls around. In the mean time, stick it to SHoE – we’ll keep you updated, and keep checking back here for all the latest news!
